Have two in one day! Sorry, I couldn't help myself. Poor white horse, it feels left out. Full resolution + textless version can be found here. And that's the end of this weekend show, see you all when the work week is over!

    Nexus Farce: IoI Vignettes

Chapter 9 - Space is a Figurative Ocean "Hael, no!" Typhonus's contact proved less reliable than he had hoped... Above Hael Storm is the conveniently minifigure-accommodating air vent, with this grille as the access point. The bottom of the ventilation system employs these containers for an industrialized appearance. This one was a challenge to shape. Though nearly invisible from interior shots, the sloped walls are lined with hinge bricks for a nice 30-degree angle offset. This model finally presented an opportunity to use the large Insectoids appendages as support beams. The guard's innards are spattered across the floor, leading me to question why the LEGO Group ever thought producing this element in red was a good idea.

Over the last day I went on a tutorial binge for SFM, and I made this out of it, I hope it isn't too bad as everything aside from setting up the two characters was new for me (yes I made the forest, but not by placing trees one by one): (1920x1080px can be found at the download button here)

    Nexus Farce: Ingress of Imagination

It seems the bureaucratic interlopers on the Elimbiers have found the entirety of my magnum opus to be so insincere, so offensive, that they had the gall to strip it from the public forum. Publishing my work on the Elimbies was an act of charity; a sanctuary from the standard OC-centric bollocks people in their ignorance call art. I only sought to provide the denizens of the Elimbies an escape from their repressive society, an optimistic ideal for them aspire toward. Prior to this, individual posts have been singled out for scrutiny due to allegations of offensive content such as implicit homicide and allusions to intoxication, which I reluctantly purged in compliance; such restrictions must be lifted to produce a climate of civil openness, but those reforms can wait. Now, everything I have worked for has been utterly demolished for the sake of ideological purity. The rationalization? I've not seen one. This is tantamount to a declaration of war, and I intend to retaliate with all means at my disposal. Potentially. Likely not. But you can expect a more comprehensive reprimand at some point in the future. Right...chapter 9 is up. Ahoy, mega-blokkers.

    Please Help Wes Jenkins

Many of us know Wes Jenkins for having been Creative Director, Writer, and Designer for the beloved 1997 LEGO PC game LEGO Island or LI1, which played a significant role in the childhoods of a myriad of children, inspiring creativity, imagination, play, fun, learning, etc, as well as spawning many of the humorous running-jokes based on some of the game's glitches and the like we enjoy in this community, most notably "Green-a-RedBrick/GreenRed Brick, you stay!" I've been friends with Wes for several years now on Facebook, and he's one of the most fantastic people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing, let alone being able to call my friend. He's brilliantly creative, imaginative, lighthearted, funny, silly, and an excellent artist! Most of all though he's very kindhearted, compassionate, loving, modest, and has this unwavering aptitude to make light of and poke fun at his predicaments, no matter the severity, all the while retaining a sense of seriousness. Wes inspires me a lot for all these reasons and more, and he's been consistently one of the biggest beacons of hope in my life that I can be an adult and conduct myself with maturity, seriousness, and professionalism, but still maintain and express a lot of childlike qualities, and still be very much a kid. Sadly since having to leave LEGO in 2000 or so, Wes has been burdened with a lot of health and financial troubles, on top of which he had to take care of his 91-year-old father with dementia for a while at one point until his father's passing a few years ago. Wes has been largely taken care of by his loving wife Kyle for many years since, meanwhile illustrating humorous drawings in his "Doodle-a-Day" series as a creative outlet and source of joy. Despite all the hardships that befell them, together they were able to make it through much of their troubles. However, now I'm very sad to say they're being evicted from their home, their medical insurance has run out, and they no longer have any credit. They have to move out of their home by the 18th-19th of this month and are in dire need of financial support to afford temporary housing, as time is running out and it's very much a life or death situation at this point. To this end Wes has set up a GoFundMe page. Please give them any amount of money you can spare in their time of need, and please share this and help get the word out as soon as you can. Wes has never asked for money before, and the fact he's doing so now is a very good indicator that the situation is quite serious. I love Wes dearly, and I'd really like for us all to be able to cherish this wonderful man's presence and creativity in the world for as many more years as possible, and even more for he and his wife Kyle to live with a better quality of life. Thank you. See you later brickulator!

    Nexus Farce: Ingress of Imagination

Indeed, Peabody Sam's masterpiece, Johnny Thunder Blows This Taco Stand, heavily inspired the stylistic direction and tone of the Nexus Farce. We're over halfway through Ingress of Imagination now, but I have ideas for a continuation should I ever bother with one. The images are all of real models; I have always preferred tangible models to virtual ones. My brother has a secondary interest in photography, and has a reasonably nice camera and lens, to boot. He's taped together a white-backdrop studio, complimented by a bunch of adjustable lighting instruments to deal with those pesky shadows. The camera is mounted on a tripod, and the lens is manually adjusted to be in focus. I suppose it's a testament to his photographic acumen that you might mistake it for a rendering! Chapter 11 is up. Introducing the Head Separator.

    Nexus Farce: Ingress of Imagination

Another ludicrously amusing chapter. You write well, and manage to parody... almost everything in existence, but I think that was your point. The author's purpose by writing this piece of work was- *hit by brick* well, I did do a Reading Response on Johnny Thunder Blows This Taco Stand . I really like your somewhat sporadic images - do you actually construct them yourself? (Or are they rendered?) And how do you get everything in focus? And how do you get rid of a pesky background, if you do photograph them?

    Your Bricks Are Toast

I can't wait either. I want to hear the LEGO Island version of "Lucky You" in Stereo like this recording is. However, we probably won't hear the true HQ versions of Lorin Nelson's work - he mentioned in the comments section on a YouTube video of one of the songs that the master tapes (8tracks) were on his boathouse (at the time) that unfortunately found its true home in the Pacific Ocean... off of the coast of Sausalito, California. Heartbreaking... "Park Theme" will never be heard in its true HQ form. Well, any of his work unfortunately. Unless some of it (whether it be Mono or Stereo - excluding the alternate Jail Theme at 22kHz) is still buried in the .SI files that haven't been unpackaged yet, we will never know. In a way, we are lucky that this was even found. A great find indeed

I'm starting college work next week so I'm trying to get as much of this published beforehand as possible. Expect one more chapter sometime this weekend, followed by a protracted bout of inactivity. Chapter 10 is up. I hope none of you reading this one are English majors.
