Yes, my wording may have been vague, but unfortunately so is my memory. What I thought I remembered was the comic going directly from the missing page to this page, which is the last page of the comic. It even makes sense stylistically, since both panels (the civilians getting orbed and the drones gathering) are drawn in circular shapes and feature an unhealthy dose of green smoke/mist. It feels like a very natural progression; in the online version of the comic, the scene with the drones almost seems to come out of nowhere. However, the reason why I put the word "thought" in italics is because, if my memory is true, then the two pages where Dash intercepts Ogel's rocket... wouldn't be there? It's clear from the one image we have of this missing page that it comes after this page, but if the very next page with the drones is the last page of the comic, then we're skipping over those Dash pages. For the record, I have no memory of Dash being in the comic... but, as I said, take my memory with a grain (or boatload) of salt because it was so long ago that I read this comic. Maybe he was in the comic, but I don't remember it. So, random hypothesis time? If 9/11 or whatever is to blame for the comic being revised, then perhaps the revision extends beyond merely removing a page. Perhaps the Dash pages were added in as a substitute. This changes the comic's tone from "I AM OGEL AND I CANNOT BE STOPPED" to "the good guys win and foil Ogel's evil plans again, but he'll be back for more". Feels like a more optimistic ending that LEGO would want to promote in the wake of a tragedy. But hey, that's just a hypothesis. A toy hypothesis! Thanks for subscribing to random half-baked crap I pull out of nowhere to steal your "likes"!5 points -

And finally we know the true story behind the following cartoon, because it is actually forgotten concept art, that shows us the REAL reason, why it was cancelled : @aidenpons: You have forgotten to mention some other gems like the Creeper prototypes (which is even more hilarious, when you take into account, that the Minecraft Creeper is based on a botched up prototype for the pig, if I remember it correctly) or CYBOTS .4 points -

Hello fellow RRUers! I have found some information about some unreleased LEGO themes that had interesting ideas. This theme was called Mafia Gangsters: This theme was intended to be in the Gangster era in the 1930s. Besides it's culture and bad history, this theme was cancelled in early production. This final unreleased theme was called Europa: (Really original) This theme setting was in the 18th Century, featuring cannon-forts, towns, bridges and transportation. Possibility of including Witches, Bridge Trolls and also it is the time of Dracula. Alternatively the theme could include historically correct soldiers of the Scotch, Russian, Dutch armies etc. with ships, hot-air balloons and the like. This is also the colonial era. This theme was cancelled in late production. So yeah, let me know if this is quite interesting and have a great time reading this. Cheers.2 points -

This had actually crossed my mind, so cool that it's a possibility. As a kid the flow of it really bothered me, going abruptly from "Ogel is defeated and stranded in the ocean" to "now he's rallying his forces!" This line of thought led me to checking the page count for the comics and, sure enough, they're all 10. Considering the revised version of the Control Center comic is 10 pages too, it's actually a pretty safe bet that the Dash pages were created as replacements. So that'd mean, in addition to the pic from Eurobricks, the panel on the left here would be different, and there's also another page out there.2 points -
Alpha Team music composer(s)?

I just did some more snooping... as per the norm, you might observe. The 2011 version of the Beat Revolution website is called "peter kerekes music and sound" on the tab, which prompted further investigation. Peter Kerekes is the co-owner of Beat Revolution, and was also a composer and sound designer, from 2000-2007 (incidentally, the trademark for Beat Revolution's logo was cancelled by 2008). He currently works at NMD Music and Sound as a freelance composer, music producer, and sound designer. Some more searching around LinkedIn yielded another name: Fletcher Beasley, a composer / music producer / mixer / technology specialist who was a partner and composer for Beat Revolution from 2000-2006.2 points -

I noticed their website seemed to be loading a random background music track each time I refreshed the page, until one time I got the Deep Sea Orb Factory build music (the full loop of it, even, though in sorta low audio quality). Which isn't really helpful I guess, but interesting. Edit: There's an old html version of their site that works! https://web.archive.org/web/20010309174728/http://www.beatrevolution.com/ ... and, uh, their "About Us" page isn't exactly helpful. :\ Ah yes, "Our talented composers" certainly helps our search Edit: Whoa whoa whoa, wait, on the samples page! https://web.archive.org/web/20070707213207/http://www.beatrevolution.com/mp3/Legotheme.mp3 That's definitely not the version of the theme heard in-game! That is, it seems higher quality. It's not the full thing though. :c2 points -

Oh my goodness. It's that dang Rock Raiders commercial all over again! While I don't own the Ogel Control Center set or instructions, but I've got a friend who did (still does?). Years and years ago, I read those instructions at his house and I remembered the comic, and the page where Bloggle Blocket drops a ton of Mind-Control Orbs on an unsuspecting crowd of civilians, turning them into Skeleton Drones. That was the last time I ever saw that page, since all online instructions skip right over it (just like you said, so I'm just being redundant for the sake of storytelling). Of course, this was so long ago that it's probably not worth contacting said friend to ask if he still has the instructions. Heck, I can barely remember where I put my own stuff from two minutes ago, let alone an enclosed instruction booklet from 15 years ago! But, I just wanted to say "thanks" for validating my memories and confirming yet again that I'm not that crazy. Anyways, on a more positive note, I got the Bomb Squad set back in 2004 and it actually came with the comic. If Pereki hadn't already got pics for you, then I would've been happy to scan them myself. I had no idea this comic was supposedly "missing" from online sources.2 points -

Back in 2008, when I was recording the Alpha Team soundtrack, I did a Google search for "Beat Revolution" and found their website, which contained music samples from their work (including a small snippet of the Alpha Team main theme). Unfortunately, as I went searching for it again just now to give you a link... I can't find it at all. The domain name must have expired or something. So, because I knew this would keep me up at night otherwise, I went digging. First stop: the Wayback Machine. Just on a hunch, I tried "beatrevolution.com", and to my surprise, I got a positive result on the first try. Here it is! And... it's completely broken. Thanks, Flash. But, it's a start. From what little I recall, I think it was a music production company that dabbled in different genres (but, since this was eight years ago, take what I say with a grain of salt... blimey, was it really that long ago that I recorded the Alpha Team soundtrack?). Perhaps along the lines of Bob & Barn Ltd., which did the BIONICLE: The Game soundtrack... except "Bob" and "Barn" refer to two specific people (Paul Arnold and Andrew Barnabas, respectively), so then again, perhaps this analogy doesn't quite work... but then again, the "About Us" page shows the pictures of two guys, so maybe it does work... So, if it's a company with a website that no longer exists, then perhaps they're no longer in business? tl;dr Beat Revolution had a website, not anymore, Wayback Machine version is missing a lot of stuff, and I just casually showed up again at RRU after months (years?) of inactivity without making a big deal out of it.2 points -

Alpha Team Set Comic Revisions
Ben24x7 reacted to lol username for a topic
The Alpha Team sets all had comics in the instructions. But it seems in the first line of sets, at least one comic was altered, and another removed entirely, apparently due to 9/11. First, the comic that was removed - the one in the instructions of 6775 Alpha Team Bomb Squad. All instruction scans I've been able to find online are the version without the comic, but Pereki has the original print and grabbed some quick pics: http://imgur.com/a/uLrxn Now the comic that was altered - 6776 Ogel Control Center. Here's the version you can find in online scans: http://lego.brickinstructions.com/lego_instructions/set/6776/Ogel_Control_Center_ But, in this Eurobricks review of the set, the reviewer points out it was altered: That page isn't in the scans you can find online. Sadly they didn't say exactly what the changes were. It's possible it was simply the removal of that page (though there'd probably have to be at least two pages removed or altered, because it's a physical booklet), but we don't know. So: Does anybody have an original print of the Ogel Control Center instructions with the comic intact, and if so could you provide more info on it? Thanks. Also, while I don't think any other comics were altered, you can find scans of them all here if you want to compare them with your physical copies: http://lego.brickinstructions.com/en/lego_instructions/theme/lego_alpha_team/2 It seems most of the instructions on LEGO.com have been stripped of the comics, even front and/or back covers with alternate builds, etc... https://wwwsecure.us.lego.com/en-us/service/buildinginstructions/search#?search&combined=10000-20085%3B2001 So probably best to stick to fan sites hosting instructions.1 point -

Chapter 8 - The Smothering "Gratuitous Minor Skirmish" The Ministry of Narrative is the governmental body responsible for the handling of all information disseminated to the public. The potential implications on the narrative field of the Imaginetic Spatial Distortion Array drew the scrutiny of the Ministry, seeing it as an asset to exploit or a liability in the hands of the enemy. The Protagonist Smothering Agency (P.S.A.) is the enforcement division of the Ministry, squelching dissidents and interrogating rival factions. Jerk Bowel's character is fashioned after 24's Jack Bauer, who is a federal agent and will at least once a season remind the audience of this. Jerk has also infiltrated Chapter 5's vignette, and can be seen performing surveillance on behalf of the Ministry. Fire elements have a small crevice in which all sorts of accessories can be lodged. That little projectile lodged in the fire element is a floodlight accessory used in those weird Clone Wars sets. I've been looking for a place to use the gauge assembly (seen at the top right) for a while now. It consists of a Life on Mars engine piece for the frame, Zurg's power level disk, and a minifigure hand for the dial. I don't have a witty conclusion for this one. Maybe I'll make up for it next time.1 point -

Chapter 5 - Assembling the Build Alliance "A Perplexing Demonstration" Typhonus is a rather eccentric fellow, and his estate reflects this. This room houses some of his most eclectic artifacts, situated on pedestals in the back, which will be addressed from left to right. The first is a 2x4 brick from the Modulex line. Bricks at this scale were long considered a physical impossibility, and scientists have speculated that they may in fact be native to an adjacent reality. The second is the Kanohi Pakari Nuva, the Mask of Strength; this miniature version of the mask comes from one of those Bionicle Pen sets. Prior to this, I had experimented creating a body to fit this unique head size. There is a discrepancy between this depiction and the story, the latter of which says the Kanohi was a Miru. Unfortunately, these pens are really hard to come by, so I made do by decapitating Onua. It isn't quite visible, but Johnny Thunder's trademark fedora is right behind the blonde, suited fellow. For whatever reason Typhonus had decided to store it in his collection, either because of its historical significance, or he just likes to gloat. The fourth is a Znap connector, another obscure element which has mystified researchers for several zillenia. The last is...well. The prototype Imaginetic Spatial Distortion Array is held together by an Aeroblade from Ninjago. The bald, mustached fellow is molded after Arthur C. Clarke, a novelist remembered for, among other things, giving us Clarke's Laws. If you don't know what these laws are, google them and then re-read the chapter. It'll be about 35% more funny.1 point -

Chapter 4 - Albert's Abode "Albert's Abode" Albert's unassuming home is a relatively simple model; nevertheless, it was a very fun build with plentiful visual gags. Grass and flowers can be seen in the forefront, alluding to the "inexplicable" building ordinances requiring one wall be absent, a quality not unfamiliar to the buildings of the LEGO City line. The municipal government believes this open-air approach to housing encouraged community interaction and carried with it other societal benefits, such as economical government surveillance. Decades prior, criminals had attempted to gain entry to homes with intent to ransack via windows and doors to the front and side of houses, and almost immediately discovered this approach carried with it certain challenges; It could be very difficult to open them from the outside when their knobby little hands which couldn't work their way into the grooves. Others took an only slightly more pragmatic approach, opting to forcibly disassemble walls and the like, but this could cause quite a din and alert the entire neighborhood to the burglary. More recently, with the national enactment of these housing stipulations, one particularly bright young criminal mastermind, known by his surrogates only as "The Fourth Law-breaker," proposed something remarkable: instead of going a traditional route, prospective burglars might simply slip in undetected through the unobstructed back. In the next year alone, the crime rate septupled; violence and house-fires were on the rise as well, prompting municipalities across the country to commission new police buildings, fire stations, and the occasional underequipped hospital, bleeding dry funds for other expenses, such as parks, infrastructure, and economic development projects. "The Fourth Law-breaker" became very rich as a result of his discovery, enabling him to possess an influence over various authority structures, including the police department. The architects of the prisons built flaws into the cells, enabling allied parties easy escape from their captivity. Lawmakers figured it would be personally advantageous to look the other way meanwhile kicking the cylindrical tin container down the pavement. Thus the problem pervaded society: burglary on the rise, increased funding for new police and fire equipment without confronting the core issues, and an appalling underrepresentation of women in the workplace. ...oh sorry, there was a model, too? The terrier's "eyebrows" are the handlebar mustache accessory, and the tiles on the wall are supposed to represent letters from the cryptic "language" used in the Great Minifig Mission, creatively dubbed "Minifig"; the written form of which curiously resembles the faces of a six-sided dice, and contains a series of dot configurations which conveniently correspond to the twenty-six letters of the alphabet. The refrigerator (Fridge Logic) and lighting fixture (Lampshade Hanging) are an unapologetic nod to TVTropes, a serious ailment which conditions its victims to a perpetual cycle of link-clicking until your browser gets tired of all the tabs you've opened and will probably never get around to reading. And yes, my primary motivation for including the terrier was to give Typhonus a "Pet the Dog" moment. I...didn't plan to ramble on like that. Sort of had a fuzzy idea of that background in my head for a long time. Is that sort of commentary appreciated? Let me know in the comments. Or don't. I probably wouldn't.1 point -
