    Super Golden Bricks

This mod makes Golden Bricks reflect the current sky box rather than a golden Sandy Bay skybox. As you can imagine, this can be pretty interesting. http://oresome.rockraidersunited.com/download/386 Goes in COMMON\MODELS\PICKUPS This is actually about the first mod I made for LR2, way back when the GTC extractor was new. I don't know why it never got released. That's a lie, I know exactly why it didn't get released: I could never find where the damn thing is located and I was too lazy anyway.

    LI2 Mod Manager

LI2 Mod Manager is an evolution of the patcher program that I made a while ago. The purpose of this program is to make it simple to install, remove, and distribute mods for Lego Island 2 (PC). This program supports two types of mods: Patch: Modify the hex values of the game's executable file. File Replacement: Replace a game file with a modified one. Installation -1.) If you are running the game .bod/.bob-less then you must delete (or relocate) all of your unused .bod/.bob files from your _data folder. If you're not, ignore this. It still works with .bod/.bobs. 0.) Remove any mods you've previously installed manually. It might confuse the program otherwise. 1.) Download and unzip the latest version. 2.) Place the files in your Lego Island 2 installation folder so it looks like this: Creating Mods Visit this page for information on how to package mods. Compatible Mods Bi-Plane Fuel Fix - by Xiron & McJobless Download | Post | Thread HD Font - by EDlTOR Download | Thread Island Grass for Island 2 - by Xiron Download | Thread Skateboard Speed Modifier - by Xiron Download | Thread Skeleton Mod - by Terrev Download | Post | Thread Sky Mods - by Xiron Download | Post | Thread Walk on Tracks - by Xiron Download | Post | Thread (If you make a mod that is packaged for this mod manager, post a link and I'll add it to the list.) Mods that would work, but need to be packaged manually (see above: Creating Mods)

Sorry for the year-late reply. The "more digital figures" were done, like you suggested, entirely digital. We 3D modeled those, animated them and rendered them out. I dug through my old files and found some more random bits 'n' pieces. Several different artists worked on these, so you'll see different styles. These are mostly mockups, exploring how the UI would work. Enjoy! And here are some of the "high poly" in-game cars from the workshop.

    LEGO Stunt Rally development artwork

Hello, As a thank-you to the community here for helping me get the game running again on a modern PC, I'll be posting some images from the development of the game. I'll start at the very beginning: the pitch! The following images were created as we were pitching the game to LEGO Media. The original concept was pretty clear from the beginning: it was LOCO meets Micro Machines. We iterated on these images as you'll see below. The original name and logo we whipped up for the pitch. The game kept the name for much of the development period. Probably the very first mockup. Here we are just exploring the view angle, car size on screen, what kind of information to show on screen, that sort of thing. UI Mockups Some vehicle ideas. The original pitch included quite a bit of customization to the car - the player would be able to tweak springs, rubber bands, tyres, etc. for optimum car performance. Character profiles - we all loved the punk guy from LOCO. Early ideas demonstrating the in-car camera view. First sketch for the workshop. More to come!

    Island Xtreme Stunts' GBA Maps

In the GBA port, Freeway Frenzy and Wave Catcher share three giant maps; the difficulty advances through each one, and they even connect in order. As a kid, I was really fascinated by their detail, and I always wanted to see the whole map. I decided to rip whatever I could of the first level; it took me about 3 1/2 days to complete it. Although it was impossible to get out of bounds, I was able to avoid restarting with an hour-long timer. Credit goes to @Xiron. LEVEL 1 (easy) - complete! LEVEL 2 (medium) - complete! LEVEL 3 (hard) - complete!

    Security blanket

Here, have a bootleg! Around six years ago, I made a driver in Lego racers. His name was Oil. At the time, I had a lot of trouble playing the game. I don't know what it was about this racer I made, but I liked him. I started a circuit (I thought it said carecut when I was seven) against redbeard. For the first time ever, I won the carecut. I moved on to the next champion. It felt amazing. I then beat king kahuka the next day. Flash forward 3 months. I was playing with Lego at a friend's house. Digging through his collection, I found Oil's head piece (The one with the white bangs). I traded like, three pirates soldiers for that piece. And it was more than worth it. I don't remember the kid's name, but all I can say is this: Thank you for indirectly making me who I am today. I loved Oil. I took him everywhere with me. I took him on all sorts of lego adventures. While many minifigures came and went, Oil always stuck around. And while I did redesign his appearence, yes, he's still the same figure in my heart. Over time, Oil slowely became more like a person to me. It felt like I always had someone to talk to. Someone who would listen. Someone who would understand. Someone who would encourage me. Agree with me. Do things with me. Someone I could trust. And someone who would smile at me, no matter how bad things get. A few weeks ago, I overheard my sister say "He always carries around his stupid legos. They're like a security blanket to him." And that really hit me hard. All sorts of feelings of embarrassment and shame filled me. I was just a stupid kid who carries around a blankie everywhere. I went up to my Mom's house that day, where there's nothing to do. So I brought some Lego. I was tired and melancholy. I couldn't sleep. I didn't know what to do. So I reached into my travel bag and brought out oil. I looked at his happy yellow face. He made me feel better. Then and there I realised. It didn't matter.

Hey k-g, the images you posted this time reminded me of some other concept images I found here. (Some people might remember I posted this before) By the way, I'm pretty sure all the world mockups can be seen in the boss intros Actually, it is, kinda. It's regular sample-based synthesis with reverb. EDIT: Oh crap I already posted this XD

    LI2 Mod Manager

Awesome! I'll add them to the list right away. Alright, cool. I didn't include them just in case you would consider it as "stealing." I've included the patches because my old program used them already anyway. I think I will replace the File Replacement Sample with your grass mod, because it's a good example. The rest I will leave in the list so others can decide for themselves if they want them or not. Honestly, the system is pretty much held together with rubber bands and popsicle sticks. My tests worked properly, but it certainly needs improvement. Here's the source if you want to peek at it. "what if there is a conflict and two mods alter one file?" The one lower on the list will overwrite the previous one. However, it should not mess up restoring the game files to default. Ideally there should be a way to reorder list items, but I need to work on something else for a while. Essentially it works on two conditions: if the necessary .bob file is present or not. If a .bob file exists, it places the new files inside the _data folder. To uninstall, it is simply deleted. The .bob file still has the defaults. See, it seems like the game first loads everything inside of the .bob files, and if an unpacked folder exists it loads that afterwards. If a .bob file does not exist, it first checks if the file exists in the "backup" folder. If not, it assumes the file in the _data folder is the original and creates a backup of it. Then it overwrites the _data file with the mod. That way if another mod overwrites the previously installed mod, it shouldn't overwrite the backup. To uninstall in this situation, it checks for an original in the backup folder. If it exists, it deletes the modded file, and moves the backed-up file in it's place.

Look what I won in an Ebay Bid.

I can't believe someone was selling this treasure. The moment I saw It I needed to have it. Put the bid to £20 and waited. A few days later it arrived, original box and everything. The CD was not included, I just put that in there for show, but I am so damn lucky, a set with all the original pieces. I always loved the Chrome Crusher, the end game Vehicle that destroyed any type of rock in a second. On top of that, it came with Axle, my favourite character from the game. This will forever sit in my display case, a memento of such an amazing (And frustrat-A Landslide has occurred! ) game.

Hello! I'm back with some images. Here are some renders of the high-poly cars made for the cutscenes of LSR. These weren't made by Intelligent Games, but by a different team (I don't know who). http://www.rockraidersunited.com/gallery/album/525-lego-stunt-rally-cg-cars/

This is how we tested the first level (maybe the 2nd level as well, I don't fully remember). Several members on the team needed orange help. This model was actually in the game for a while - we wanted to keep it in as an easter egg, but of course there would be too many legal troubles if anyone ever found out, so we took it out.

@jamesster: Wow, you really know your bricks! Pretty interesting to see that some of these bricks were never released in those colors. I don't really remember, but I think we may have received some of those models. We had no idea at the time these were using rare pieces though! I guess that would make them worth quite a bit to a collector these days. @JimBobJeffers: These models were made at the time while I was working on a different game. I would re-join the team later, by when the characters and most of the vehicle designs had been finalized. I'm pretty sure our team intended to have original characters only for the game, and not use any existing Lego characters. The jungle boss, Snake, was based on Colonel Kurtz from Apocolypse Now - his face paint is inspired by Kurtz's face paint pattern. Here is the next batch of photos (dated 29-9-1999). Another failed attempt at the muscle car, by the looks of it. This is easily my favorite design of the X-car. Probably didn't pass the safety test. (Yes, still more to come!)
