I think most like the idea of a Rock Raiders sequel or spiritual successor - there's been many, many fan-created attempts at sequels (some getting farther than others, none being complete or playable games). There's also the case of DDI and "BLock Raiders 2" but uh... I'll let others explain that, lol.

all of those fan attempts have ended with the dev being asked about it a year after their last activity and they're like "oh yeah i cancelled that six months ago and didn't tell anyone lololololololololololol" and tbh bee lock raiders is pretty much the same way lmao

I was hunting through some YouTube channels I haven't checked in a while, and I found this; So, does anyone else have this... disc? Thing? Application? (It says 'Set 8450', so does anyone have this set?) I want to know if there is any more dialogue, not because its a life or death situation but because... ....well, I'm intrigued.

that's how i feel about the sets, but i can't say the same about the show. it's uh, something else. or maybe i just try to avoid bad shows and im not used to this sort of amazingness.

It's fair time. When fair is gver, I'll make a proper BDG Post. Just not enough time right now. But, that's not important. It was the first night of fair. Everyone was tired. None of the advisors for the sheep barn were there. I needed a place to sit. We barely were able to get both sheep in a stall. I went to sign up for herdsmenship for the next day. On the coark board was the worst poster I've ever seen. Because children can only communicate with hashtags and selfies. Flash forward two days. I finished fitting and showing with my lamb. I'm hot. I'm sweaty. I'm still in FFA Official dress which, by the way, looks like this: That jacket's corduroy, by the way. Anyways, I'm rushing to the rv. I needed a change of clothes and water. Of course, some idiot put a listen2yourselfie booth between the barns and the rest of the campground. They weren't open yet, thank god. About an hour later, I walked back to the sheep barn to take care of my animals. They weren't open yet. Once they were fed lunch and water, I left the barn. The booth was open. They caught me. s***. They then talked my ear off and handed me this: This is really stupid. First of all, this hunt was designed for the lincoln county fair. In rural Washington. RURAL WASHINGTON. Most parents here either don't believe kids should have phones, or can't afford them. So let's assume bob has a phone, and is willing to go through this. Let's see how hard this can be. 1. A baby goat I believe you mean a "kid", but okay. This paper was created before the fair. There's no guarantee anyone brought a kid. Next. 2. An FFA member The booth opened an hour after all animal events happened. If anyone's still in official dress, they're insane. Also, they can't, it's against FFA Rules. Next. 3. The queen's flower display Fair enough. 4. A bunny They're called "rabits" around here. Next. 5 and 6 I have nothing to complain about. The guaranteed prize? A selfie. Who could've guessed that? And you have a chance to win an ipod. What can an ipod do that a cell phone with access to social media can't? Oh yeah, satisfy spoiled white kids. In rural washington. F***

Small update, since I had some time this morning: introduced audio support, with the inclusion of the main 3 music tracks as well as some of the basic sound effects. Also synced up the github-pages branch, so the new changes should be functional at the pages URL (http://rystills.github.io/rock-raiders-remake/). All sounds have been converted to both m4a and ogg, so I expect near-universal browser support. Please let me know if anyone happens to test this on their browser and does not hear any audio

Let's put it this way: Lego, as far as I'm concerned, has never done something so legitimately awful that it deserves scorn. With this not being the case, FOLs start looking for something to comically exaggerate their hate towards, and Galidor makes for an easy target since it wasn't commercially successful and it was radically different than other Lego products.

from what i've heard the guy cancelled it but only said so in a PM someone sent to him recently a year after his last update, hence my comment about people just f****ing off instead of saying they're not gonna work on it any more. why would you try to replicate that awful AI instead of making it better

I really want to get this set someday! It had a really limited release because its predecessor (Cybermaster) didn't do too well. We have a topic about them somewhere around here. Neat to see some more of what's on the disc. And kind of funny that a voice actor in it went on to be part of a popular thing!

It's difficult to stay motivated when working on a fan-remake of a game, due to the fact that doing so requires a large time commitment and effort for something that cannot make any money, and may well be shut down by the copyright holder, invalidating a tremendous amount of hard work. This is a very common issue surrounding game fan-bases in general honestly. I think the only reasonable solution is to gather enough talent in one place that work on a remake or successor can be divided into a more manageable amount for each developer, but that is obviously much easier said than done, especially for a very underappreciated game like Rock Raiders. The good news though is that Rock Raiders is not a particularly complex game by modern standards, it just becomes tricky trying to make sense of some of the weirder level file data, and attempting to replicate the clunky yet charming Raider AI (and don't forget trying to make sense of your own practically unreadable code )

And what exactly do you mean by "the same design elements of cybots?" Functionally, Galidor is the same as Cybots. Molded action figure limbs that are compatible with standard Lego bricks. That's what cybots would have been, and what galidor is. And if you mean aesthetic, then I have to disagree- those prototype molds were absolutely hideous. Any way you slice it, cybots would not have been successful, which is why it was scrapped and the ideas used to make slizer, bionicle and eventually galidor. There is no way galidor would have been more successful if it Incorporated more elements of cybots, because it already was made from the best ideas from cybots.

While I haven't posted a quote in this topic, let alone it being a Rarity that I'm quoted in this topic, observations lead me to believe no, not quite, but you're on the right track! Other people might have cut out the first half of the message so the context would be lost and it would just say "I saw a wall of arron", though this bit alone unfortunately is lacklustre which is why it probably wouldn't have been posted at all. The appearance for Achu in LR2 is definitely an eyesore, but now I created a mod that improves Achu's appearance: The textures for the headdress, torso and legs are all edited LR1 textures. Faces are not included in this mod because they are already in the game dataCHARACTERSHEADSTEXTURES folder. The root of the problem that makes him appear with Morat's default face lies in the headdress's .MD2 file. Why? It's not like anyone has a legal claim to the word "Avatar." Else, Richard Garriot or Norman Spinrad or perhaps disgruntled Hindus (ala the Maiori lawsuit against LEGO) would have sued them. lol Anti Aliasing I applied the unused "CHASSIDES.MIP" to Chill's chassis in Gimp 2.8.2 and recolored other sections where necessary to match, and finally, hex edited his MD2 model to refer to COL_BLUE.TGA instead of GEAR_PIN.TGA.
