Rant about Gaildor: Part 2
The Ace Railgun and 3 others reacted to Fush for a blog entry
And what exactly do you mean by "the same design elements of cybots?" Functionally, Galidor is the same as Cybots. Molded action figure limbs that are compatible with standard Lego bricks. That's what cybots would have been, and what galidor is. And if you mean aesthetic, then I have to disagree- those prototype molds were absolutely hideous. Any way you slice it, cybots would not have been successful, which is why it was scrapped and the ideas used to make slizer, bionicle and eventually galidor. There is no way galidor would have been more successful if it Incorporated more elements of cybots, because it already was made from the best ideas from cybots.4 points -

Modding Tools
Dazzgracefulmoon and one other reacted to lol username for a topic
LEGO Racers 2 and Drome Racers run on the same engine, and several modding tools have been created that work for both games. Since LEGO Racers 2 is the most popular of the two games for modding, the topics for these tools are located in its subforum. Here's the tools that work across both games. You may also want to explore the LR2 modding topics a bit on your own, you might find some tips that apply to Drome Racers too. UNGTC Extracts and rebuilds GAMEDATA.GTC, which contains all the game data (fairly obviously). Crucial for modding. Developer Mode Patcher Allows you to run your game off of extracted files, rather than having to rebuild a new GAMEDATA.GTC file every time you make a mod. Might not work depending on your exact version of the game. atdstrings Allows you to easily modify the text in the game. Skeleton Viewer Allows you to view model skeletons/animations.2 points -

See also: If you want to investigate further... This site has ISOs of a bunch of LEGO promo discs, discs included with sets, etc, including the Cybermaster discs: http://www.brickfactory.info/iso/index.html I've poked around at the files on the discs but haven't actually installed them. (Just a reminder - we allow rips of promo discs, discs included with sets, etc to be shared on this forum, but not rips of actual LEGO video games)2 points -

Retro LEGO Comics/Storybooks/Animated Cartoons General Discussion
Alex2000 reacted to Sadie Meowsalot for a topic
Originally this topic was geared towards the discussion of the mid-80s LEGO Publishing Classic Space comic book series, Jim Spaceborn, but it's since expanded from its roots to encompass retro LEGO comics, storybooks, animated cartoons, and the like in general. I'm however retaining the original contents of the OP below to serve as this topic's initial subject of discussion and to maintain the flow of the topic. For the uninitiated, Jim Spaceborn was a Classic Space oriented LEGO comic book series authored and illustrated by Frank Madsen , and developed and produced in collaboration with LEGO's short-lived publishing division, LEGO Publishing from 1983-1987. The series was initiated after the production of an internal prototype Classic Space book titled Trapped in Space in 1983(from which Jim Spaceborn would later draw a good deal of its inspiration and story elements), written by Douglas Hill and illustrated with photographs. However, the book was never published as LEGO later scrapped the children's book concept, and thus gave birth to the Jim Spaceborn comic book series. The series comprised of three 48-page installments and a series of three 24-page mini-comics, the third installment and the series of mini-comics, however, were never published. Development began with a white 12-page test album "Mission Spyspids", after which a second test album with imagery on 31 pages, and the vast majority of the rest of the album's pages being blank merely to give it the feeling of a final album was produced, this one carrying the name "Jan Spaceborn: Galaxens Hemmelighed". Though the name Jan was later changed to Jim subject to being deemed politically explosive. Both the test albums, unlike the final releases, were hardcover books rather than paperback. Finally, Jim Spacborn 1: The Unknown Galaxy was produced, and published in 6 countries. After which development of the series' second installment Jim Spaceborn 2: The Kidnappers From Swamp Planet/Castle of the Darkmen commenced and was published in 5 of the aforementioned six countries excluding Denmark. The unpublished third installment was titled Panic On Board of which I've uploaded layouts provided by Frank Madsen, and the 3 mini-comics titled The Monorail Service, Cleaning Robot, and The Competition. According to Erik Dyhr Thomsen, LEGO Publishing Product/Development Manager 1982-1988 LEGO Publishing was created by Keld Kirk Kristiansen, current owner of LEGO. His idea of LEGO Publishing was that they should use LEGO bricks in various media, such as books and movies. I've been in contact for a good while now with Frank Madsen among a whole host of others on the series' development team and generally people who collaborated on the project. Frank has been instrumental in the discovery of a lot of the aforementioned, having generously provided the images of the entirety of the contents of the 1983 internal prototype book Trapped in Space, the layouts for Jim Spaceborn 3, the entirety of the initial 10-page test album of The Unknown Galaxy, 1984 and 1987 Jim Spaceborn character model sheets, the original pages of The Unknown Galaxy, some covers and layouts from some of the 3 unpublished mini-comics, and much more to come, some of which I've yet to upload and will edit into the original post when they become available. He's also informed me that sometime in 1986 a Jim Spaceborn animated film was planned and produced in a Danish studio led by Jeffrey James Varab (a former Disney animator) and Jakob Stegelmen. Though development only reached the extent of a storyboard of the initial 10 minutes of the film. Soon after I contacted Jeffrey, and he told me that not only was a feature film based on the comics planned, but as well a series and video game. And if you have anything more to share with regard to Jim Spaceborn or any other retro LEGO comic or the like that hasn't been outlined or shared already please do so. I need help changing the language of my game!!
Winde reacted to Fluffy Cupcake for a topic
I guess your game only installs in one language? Extract your game data file and go the \GAME DATA\TEXT\ directory, from there you should be able to find the language you want and switch the russian out one with another language. For how to extract and play with modded files, see either this or this topic. Russian is one language I have not heard of yet for this game, my /Text/ folder comes packed with 9 different languages, and Russian is not one of them.1 point -

Fun fact: The race cars on the login screen are just items equipped by the driver NPCs. They're static models that attach to the minifigure and otherwise do nothing (except give some imagination storage for some reason). Which means you can do silly stuff like this.1 point -

Note2selfie
Dazzgracefulmoon reacted to Wirza for a blog entry
It's fair time. When fair is gver, I'll make a proper BDG Post. Just not enough time right now. But, that's not important. It was the first night of fair. Everyone was tired. None of the advisors for the sheep barn were there. I needed a place to sit. We barely were able to get both sheep in a stall. I went to sign up for herdsmenship for the next day. On the coark board was the worst poster I've ever seen. Because children can only communicate with hashtags and selfies. Flash forward two days. I finished fitting and showing with my lamb. I'm hot. I'm sweaty. I'm still in FFA Official dress which, by the way, looks like this: That jacket's corduroy, by the way. Anyways, I'm rushing to the rv. I needed a change of clothes and water. Of course, some idiot put a listen2yourselfie booth between the barns and the rest of the campground. They weren't open yet, thank god. About an hour later, I walked back to the sheep barn to take care of my animals. They weren't open yet. Once they were fed lunch and water, I left the barn. The booth was open. They caught me. s***. They then talked my ear off and handed me this: This is really stupid. First of all, this hunt was designed for the lincoln county fair. In rural Washington. RURAL WASHINGTON. Most parents here either don't believe kids should have phones, or can't afford them. So let's assume bob has a phone, and is willing to go through this. Let's see how hard this can be. 1. A baby goat I believe you mean a "kid", but okay. This paper was created before the fair. There's no guarantee anyone brought a kid. Next. 2. An FFA member The booth opened an hour after all animal events happened. If anyone's still in official dress, they're insane. Also, they can't, it's against FFA Rules. Next. 3. The queen's flower display Fair enough. 4. A bunny They're called "rabits" around here. Next. 5 and 6 I have nothing to complain about. The guaranteed prize? A selfie. Who could've guessed that? And you have a chance to win an ipod. What can an ipod do that a cell phone with access to social media can't? Oh yeah, satisfy spoiled white kids. In rural washington. F***1 point -
