I FOUND ANOTHER ONE

I recently stumbled upon an interesting Rock Raiders piece on everyone's favorite Lego purchasing website. Unlike other "unique" Rock Raiders related items I've spotted, I was able to pick this one up before it was sniped by another mysterious Rock Raiders collector. (I know you're out there.) I figured I'd share it with all of you in case you might find it interesting, and as I don't make posts very often, please forgive me if this post is in the wrong section. So yeah, here it is: (Please try to ignore the attic door behind the banner and the implications thereof.) So there it is, the most unique piece in my ever-expanding Rock Raiders collection. Even though it was a pain having it shipped all the way from Germany. If anyone has seen this before or knows that they're extremely common and I wasted a ton of money on it, please, I'd love to know. ~Sparks

Well well well. I got an M6 for my exam. That's basically the equivalent of a B+. Which is pretty good for mock exams and considering the fact I spent almost no time revising it (my attention was drawn towards our written text). My teacher commented "Is it Level 3;" that is, is it a high enough complexity to warrant being an intertextual connection? To which my answer would have been "anything is, if you're prepared to argue about it" but she was... rather annoyed with the whole affair. It doesn't help that I have a track record for being rather annoying with English in general - last year's speech was "Why our selection of speech topics is restricted" (passed) and I tried to get a Reading Response done on an RTS (blocked). I apologise for the poor quality - I'm not allowed to take my transcript home or scan it. I am, however, allowed to copy it, take the copy back home, and scan that.... which of course is rather bad quality by then with the margins cut off (which I scribbled in a lot and tried to fill in some later). Actually...I finally figured it out. I have no idea why this was the big fix that finally managed to get it to work, but here it is. 1. Install the game. You can either download the game directory or directly from disc. I did both so I could utilize music and cinematics. 2. Follow the AMD video card comparability fix. For CLGen, it doesn't have to be Voodo 2, but it DOES have to be open at all times. I tested all 3 and the results are relatively the same. 3. Get d3drm.dll in the same place you installed the game. You should have this up to this point: 4. Right click and hit properties on the shortcut. In the target area, hit space and add -ftm. For those who are wondering that that does, -ftm - This makes the videocard use all available texture memory. Also turns off game lighting. Lighting still affects game models. 5. Finally, run the shortcut, and when the video setup comes up, run the game in Microsoft Direct3D RGB Software Emulation. The game runs flawlessly save for some slowdown when insane amounts of effects are happening at the same time. The only real thing that takes a hit is the lighting being out of whack, but the game runs, and that's what matters.

I bet you are all wondering "Why is a new bedsheet worthy of a blog on RRU?" I'll show you why. It started when I got my thieving little hands on a Rock Raiders promotional poster via TradeMe (the NZ equivalent of eBay). It lay unused for... six months? until my mother had the brilliant idea to make it into a bedsheet with her own two hands (and the sowing machine). And voila! I got the result for Christmas. ;D Okay, it's not actually new as per se, as I got it for Christmas. However, it's new enough and in any case is probably worthy of a blog on RRU-*deleted* As for the poster itself, I got it off TradeMe as I said earlier. Where it came from I've no idea, but it was probably for a shop.
