Large tool store
Ben_R_R and 4 others reacted to Wirza for a topic
When boredom strikes, I need to build. I had some rock raiders stuff laying around, and I decided my chrome crusher needed a base. I built this in a few minutes. To the right is a small bucket to keep collected energy crystals. The front has a control panel, explosives storage, and a radar. To the left is a small tool rack. The back has a large bucket for storing ore before energy crystals are harvested from them. On the top is a button. It activates the radar, as well as a warning light. I hope you enjoyed a look at my moc, it was cobbled together in a matter of minutes.5 points -

Just for fun (and to take the comparison to it's logical conclusion) let's look at each iteration of the figure. Leaving out alternate outfits and such. 2000. Original figure. 2004. Just before they started using flesh colored plastic. Only change is darker pants. 2008. Promotional figure not released in normal sets (though all the parts are available in other variations of the figure). Now uses flesh plastic, and the chest printing has been altered to match, but otherwise the same as previous versions save for strangely absent leg printing. A regular retail version maintains the printing but on brown pants rather than blue. 2011. New face printing to match the current style of minifigure eyes, and new leg printing as well. 2013. I left out all the other brown-pants versions but this one needs included. New chest printing. Face is the same. Legs, oddly, revert to original printing. 2014. Yet another new face AND leg printing! 2016. The currently most recent version. Yet another new face print [edit: I was mistaken, this image just shows the other side of the double sided head], and a brand new custom hairpiece.5 points -
Bohrok vs Boxor

Bohrok vs Boxor was a fan-made Bionicle Flash series that was THE s*** back in 2006. In my opinion, at least! I made my own version of the first episode. it is very silly5 points -

LDD Glitch
Dazzgracefulmoon and one other reacted to ChileDawg for a topic
So I was working with LDD today, the latest version, tried moving a part, and this happened: As you can see by the outline, it was a 12x24 brick. Anyway, the app froze, and I had to force close it. (LDD is not responding.. etc.) Has anyone else encountered anything like this before?2 points -

Today was my first day working for Amazon. Looking behind the scenes it really hit me how much presence they have in modern society. Anyway yeah, I have a job at Amazon now. I like it. I thought i had more to say I'm exhausted1 point -

makes you wonder what minifigs are gonna be like in another 20 or so years. How much more detailed could they really go? It'd be interesting if the next shift was more toward distinct styling for figs from individual themes, in a sort of Exo-Force kind of way.1 point -

The Emoji Movie
The Ace Railgun reacted to Lair for a blog entry
i'm glad the girl emoji has eyelashes and long hair and a body and clothes so that we know she's a girl and that the boy emojis have plain faces on the regular emojis so we know they're boys and don't confuse the inevitable forced heterosexual romance⢠for something gay1 point -
Nexus Farce: IoI Vignettes
Ben_R_R reacted to Brigs for a topic
As the title implies, these are the vignettes which accompany Nexus Farce: Ingress of Imagination. Below are alternative views of the models and a brief description. Chapter 1 - Johnny Thunder and the Quest for the MacGuffin "Johnny Thunder and the Quest for the MacGuffin" Much of this model's inspiration ostensibly comes from classic Adventurers sets and the slightly more recent Indiana Jones sets. The eponymous MacGuffin is a Voltstone from the Insectoids theme, which is called an Imaginite Crystal in LEGO Universe. Includes one Johnny Thunder and one affable dismembered skeleton. The symbol behind our hero is a simplification of the insignia seen inside the Nexus Temple in the story cinematic trailer. The elevated region is also shaped after the insignia. The First Builders and Mythran apparently have a penchant for triangular geometries. A dozen of those useless flick-fire projectiles are embedded in the wall, and to their right is that one conspicuously protruding brick. A couple friendly swinging blades are suspended to the left, and the obligatory lava pit sits beneath. Skeleton.1 point -
Nexus Farce: IoI Vignettes
Wirza reacted to Brigs for a topic
It's now on my to-do list. I'll probably work up an LDD model and generate some instructions from it later this week, depending on my schedule. Chapter 12 - Gallant V "The Sanctuary" The story direction for the Ingress of Imagination was drawn from three primary sources: The LEGO Universe Cinematic Trailer, the Great Minifig Mission, and this author's personal insanity. In the Great Minifig Mission, there were a couple activities in which visitors to the LEGO Universe website could fill in the blanks to complete a transcript of Typhonus's audio journal. The Imagimeter "shards" were a set consisting of three 2x2 tile bricks. Popular opinion is that the Imagimeter pieces seen in the story trailer were located within the structure on Gallant Five. For some inexplicable reason, the Great Minifig Mission states that the compasses were smashed to prevent anyone from following them. But why wouldn't they just hide them in the Venture Koi, or toss them into the local sun? Frustrated with being unable to come up with a logical explanation, I just had Duke Exeter make up a reason for me. In the foreground, out of focus, rests one immobilized Albert. The remaining members of the team can be seen ogling over their discovery. The First Builders seem to have been pretty fond of triangles and the number three, so I tried to work it into the architecture. The cube upon which the Imagimeter pieces lie is of course emblematic of the planet Crux. The floor pattern itself is a homage to the LEGO Universe logo; more specifically, the blue background behind the letters. This background also appeared in the LEGO Universe Prima Guide, though I can't seem to locate the original file. Aligning the bars and tiles to form the ellipses proved to be the most difficult part of this model. On the whole, this the second most technically advanced and time-consuming model in the Ingress of Imagination lineup. I shall never surpass the genius of the Head Separator.1 point -

Nexus Farce: IoI Vignettes

Chapter 3 - Albert "Pants Party" In all of its glorious inebriated splendor. This one's my indisputable favorite of the batch. Notion Potions are actual consumables in LEGO Universe. I represented it with this obscure piece in trans-medium blue, which works surprisingly well. Anyway, this acid trip is the spawn of the progenitor to this story, which was originally titled "Expedition". Albert had a really depressing and cliche-ridden backstory that surpassed the nebulous PG rating back then, which this parodies in an only slightly less objectionable form. But enough of that; the morality police may be surveilling us!1 point -

Chapter 2 - Typhonus "Typhonus's Study" I think the title's pretty self-explanatory for this one. Impeccably preserved. The globe is circumscribed by a Belville bucket handle. There's a stud at both ends of every shelf. Each "book" is a 2x2 plate, with a 1x2 slope at the end; 1x2 brown panels span the gaps. Gallifreyan display panels? Typhonus must be a Time Lord, and the Venture Koi is his TARDIS. Good evening.1 point
