I can't speak for anyone here, but I know there are a LOT of complaints around the wider internet about the loading times. It truly was a spiritual LI2 successor, huh?5 points -

Base Terranova
aidenpons and 3 others reacted to RRChief for a topic
I first started designing Base Terranova over 2 years ago, but then I kinda abandoned the project as it wasn't turning out how I wanted it to be. After that, a few months ago I picked it up again and did a complete overhaul on the original design. Now, I am proud to finally present what is probably my biggest LEGO project to date: "Base Terranova - A RR HQ" Warning! Lots of pictures in the spoilers! Overview: Details of the ground floor: Details of the first floor: Details of the second floor: Details of the Top Floor: I hope you guys enjoyed looking through my newest RR model! Comments and feedback are welcomed to help improve on its design! ~A creation by RRChief~4 points -

BIONICLE RETURNING 2015
Brigs and one other reacted to emily for a topic
I'm appropriating this thread for REBEL NATURE, the new story from Christian Faber, because let's be honest there's not much bionicle stuff to talk about now anyway http://faberfiles.blogspot.com/search/label/Rebel Nature Rebel Nature is a story Faber has been posting about and developing on his blog since 2012. It looks like it's going to be a post-apocalyptic adventure about a girl and her robot with some heavy environmentalist overtones. There's an app on the way, and a movie was mentioned at one point. Nothing seemed to have come of that part - until today: All things considered the whole deal is shaping up to be a who's who of the team behind the Hero Factory Invasion from Below short and, earlier on, the Bionicle CGI web shorts - Faber at the helm, Ghost as the production company, Cryoshell for music, heck, even the underwater theme seems to be carrying over. Going further back, you can even find its roots in the Technic CD-roms of the 90s, products of Advance (with Faber) and SPU Darwin (which, after closing up shop, saw several of its members turn around and form Ghost). So I guess what I'm saying is that this has a lot of Technic DNA in it and that alone makes it interesting to me. Visually I know these guys can do some amazing things, but in my opinion they've yet to prove themselves when it comes to storytelling. I'm hoping that moving into a longer-form production like a film will shift them into gear towards really developing that ability.2 points -

Yes please. Yes. Please. Well, hopefully it won't be a problem on a PC. I can always put it on the SSD. And if it is truly TRULY a LI2 successor then we'll be able to completely negate the loading times by changing a value in the .exe so we should all be good, right?2 points -
Fish Adventure and Brickizens
aidenpons reacted to Neal for a topic
So, uh, you know how Funcom worked with LEGO to make LMO? Before this, they pitched two apps to LEGO; Brickizen and Fish Adventure (technically Fishtank) http://i.imgur.com/Ay1uq3m.png And, you know, the logical thing to do when you're pitching apps to a company is to put them on a public github. https://github.com/epsilone/LEGO-Funcom https://github.com/epsilone/FishAdventure https://github.com/GordieRoss/BrickizensDemo Brickizens is essentially that LEGO Fusion Town Manager app in a really really early state. (also oh lord the animations are bad) I'll try to take some pictures of them soon, haven't had much time to mess with it yet. (quick edit: thanks to someone on Skype for telling me about these!)1 point -

LEGO Island REDUX
Lind Whisperer reacted to Ben24x7 for a topic
Well, I just tried to recreate Papa juggling three pizzas, but suddenly I got lost and confused about which pizza was which. I gave up when I discovered I would've had to redo the entire thing. This was as far as I got as recreating it: (And no, I'm not horrible at animating flying physical objects. I was copying the flight path of the Pizzas in the intro, frame for frame) I place most of the blame on the quality of the intro, or just when two objects/items overlap each other, or how messily animated the intro is...1 point -
Does anybody here remember Clutch Powers?
eagleeyedan reacted to emily for a topic
Clutch Powers is weird because it came out at that liminal stage where long-form Lego animations were still uncommon, but were just about to start flooding the world in an endless stream. So like, it was all "cool! the first ever lego movie!" and it seemed like it was going to lead into something more directly (like, idk, more dtv lego movies) but instead the ninjagos and starwarses and lego movies just started parading in from their own independent paths and clutch is left as this kind of bizarre anomaly that doesn't have any real successor to its name, directly or spiritually. You might even say it....... works alone1 point -

Fish Adventure and Brickizens
Lind Whisperer reacted to lol username for a topic
I can't stop laughing EDIT: Ok most discussion of this is taking place on Discord, will probably make some more posts once this has all been looked through. But it should be noted that the videos in LEGO-Funcom show what appears to be a prototype of LEGO Worlds, with LEGO Fusion style scanning mechanics mixed in. It seems the whole Fusion and Worlds thing might have started/been prototyped at Funcom then brought over to TT? There's over 46 minutes of video footage here not to mention the builds/project folders of Brickizens and the fish thingy, so yeah, this is gonna take some time to dissect and make sense of completely... ALSO, just to be safe, I'm gonna ask that we not upload screenshots or whatever of this stuff to the RRU gallery or anything. Hell, I'm not sure it's a good idea to even embed screenshots and stuff in posts, just in case LEGO finds this and doesn't want it public - we aren't hosting this stuff, we're just fans discussing it, and let's keep it that way.1 point -

Pepper Roni, the actual possible to make with normal bricks pizza delivery dude!
Lind Whisperer reacted to DistrictToTheFuture for a topic
Something that was always kind of weird about Pepper's two designs (after LEGO Island), they gave him designs that a normal LEGO minifigure can't have without off-branded items. Sooo, I've been working on a model in Blender. (yes, I also changed his face)1 point -
