The Return of the Tongue
Quisoves Potoo and 4 others reacted to aidenpons for a blog entry
I've returned for a second time after a long string (15) of exams again except these ones I did actually study for and didn't need to bury myself in a textbook at the end of term three not that anyone massively cares all that much, and oh look, the deranged lunatic is back with his tongue as if you hadn't noticed that already5 points -

Interview With Jonathan Smith, The Development Director of LSW1!
aidenpons and one other reacted to ticketstoloservile for a topic
Hi, As I was looking for developers of LSW1, I found Mr. Smith on a website and contacted him. Here's the interview! Me: First, when did the development start? Mr. Smith: In 2003. Me: How many unfinished stuff was made in the development process? Mr. Smith: There were several characters and levels sketched into the game plan at the start of the project which were dropped during development for various reasons. Me: Do you still have the sketches? If you do, would you ever release them into the internet? Mr. Smith: Yes, somewhere deep in archive; maybe one day. Me: Why was the unfinished levels deleted in the first place? Mr. Smith: To enable the team to focus on the best and most important levels as they worked to finish the game. Me: How many levels were deleted? Mr. Smith: I think four. Me: In the files, I found some cutscenes for the deleted levels. Which includes, the start cutscene and the ending cutscene of Bounty Hunter Pursuit, Anakin's Flight, Boga Chase, a level involving Obi-Wan and Jango Fett in space. Why was this in the files? Mr. Smith: There’s a lot of data produced during development of a game, and it can be difficult to strip out absolutely everything that isn’t totally necessary at the end. Me: Was online co-op considered? Mr. Smith: The original Xbox Live launched as we were conceiving the game; so it crossed our minds - but we wanted to focus strongly and distinctively on local co-op. Me: When the development started, how many ideas were considered? Mr. Smith: Many ideas! Me: How many characters were planned to be in the game? Mr. Smith: Only a few more than eventually made it in... Me: How many hubs for the game was considered? In the video that I sent to you in the last mail, uncovered a deleted hub for the game. When was the hub deleted? Mr. Smith: I honestly can't remember exactly, sorry. I think we only ever planned one actual hub. Me: Were there any early builds for the game, that includes the deleted levels? Mr Smith: Yep, it's possible to access all areas of the game data in the dev builds, which were created on a very regular basis. Me: And the last question, how did the deleted levels look like and what was the gameplay? Mr. Smith: You can see Bounty Hunter Pursuit and Anakin's Flight in The Complete Saga. The Boga Chase was conceived to match the movie, but never really got off the ground. - Me: Thanks for your attention! Mr. Smith: Thanks! - If you want, just write some ideas into this topic, and I'll send it to him. Cheers!2 points -

New Software in Closed Beta - Stud.io
Shadowblaze reacted to Jimbob for a topic
I haven't seen this posted on RRU. With LDD getting reduced support, has anyone seen the new Stud.io in development? I just downloaded it, haven't played with it much yet but it seems to have the potential for more complex designs than LDD. Gaze yonder in awe of my inspiring construction: As someone who shops on Bricklink for custom models, this tool looks quite handy. You can build models in steps to make instruction manuals easier to produce, there are no angle restrictions, and the colour/parts libraries match Bricklink's (I think LDD uses different names for some things).1 point -

1024x768 png thumbnail. Info about program version or something. LDraw file. LDraw file with some embedded geometry. (Sometimes no embedded geometry) I think that's all of it. Password? I don't remember either... *cough*1 point -

*Watches a few episodes* My god. That looks awesome! Especially the lighting. I mean, just look at this! Does this look like a stop-motion animation... or a picture pulled off of a LEGO MOC Gallery? Now I want the LEGO Movie's sequel to be made and animated by this lad!1 point -

There's a cute new series that just got put up on the Lego YouTube about a Pirate who picks fights with every theme. Full Playlist I linked the Bionicle one obviously but if you are only going to watch one than definitely make it the City one, it's the best. The voice acting and stopmotion are top notch in general, but they really need to either drastically improve, or just drop, the digital editing on the minifig's faces. It sticks out like a sore thumb.1 point -

I took a crack at this and found the addresses of the number you want to change in the exe: These are the values used that control the fade-out effect and the ending of the race in single races and versus races (and timetrials? dunno) If you have the (no-drm)1999 version: Or, if you have the 2001 version:1 point -

LEGOS IN SPACE: THE GAME: THE JEWEL-CASED SPECIAL EDITION
Lair reacted to Brigs for a topic
Last week i got in the mail some guy on the internet sold me some clearly home made lego tiles with cruddy decals of some total doc ock knock-off and jack sparrow wannabe. Total sham. I only bought it because it included a an ultra-exclusive, ultra-limited quantity jewel-cased edition of my second fav game of all time (sry nexus adventures, rip lu), LEGOS IN SPACE: THE GAME i didt even knew it existed. Apparently only one copy of the edetion was manufactured before production was shut down probs due to legal issues coz lego wus greedy and wanted to sue (srsly, first lu, now this. STOP BING SO MEAN, LEGO!!1!), in spite of the widespread critical acclaim and overwhelmingly positive audience reception of the LEGOS IN SPACE TRILOGY. i have a convo from the seller (think it might be jamesstir? ) but ill post that later heres some hi-quality pics i took hope you guys like if i get a lot of replys maybe i will do a video review thats all for now, RIP LU!!! ps nexo knights looks neat looks just like lu i bet well see dude axeter again1 point -
