    Pylon, the Brute

    A renowned warrior from the distant planet Mechaniron, Pylon leads his legion of brutes into battle against all who oppose him. ~~~ Flickr Album ~~~ So this MOC took about two months to build, nitpick over, and rebuild to get to the point it's at today. I can personally say that I'm pleased with the way Pylon came out in the end, being originally driven by the usage of Hero Factory 1.0 pieces in different ways (I mean, the leg armor is still leg armor, but it's upside down now). The longer I took with him, the more the MOC evolved from a much smaller drone-like character into a hulking, ax-wielding brute. In the story I'm developing, he is part of the same robotic species as Spry (a MOC I made earlier this year), as well as in the same universe as Carmine Wheeler and the Gasket Brothers.

    Pylon, the Brute

    What a surprise, it's another amazing MOC from Phantom Terror! Good job with that Hero Factory armor - I am quite surprised you can actually get it to do anything. It looks very nice. In fact, everything looks very nice.

    BIONICLE RETURNING 2015

    So I've talked about how Journey to One frequently looks like and is about as interesting as a boring in-game cutscene from an early 00s adventure video game (you know, the ones where the characters stand staring blankly forward in an idle animation as they talk unless some critical action is taking place). Volta, the production team, has mostly videogames on their resume so it isn't a huge surprise. I just wanted to note a few new discoveries. One, Volta is owned by none other than Frima Studios! Not only a company that makes videogames, but the company that made the Bionicle mobile apps for G2. The person who discovered this also found that Frima's current FX demo reel has some snippets of the animation they pitched to Lego to get the job. (go to 0:43). JAnd the other thing, just to show how much this Netflix animated series is actually a videogame from head to toe, I also found this. The company that handled sound design is actually named Game On and has a grand total of 3 film & TV credits (including Bionicle) amidst a swath of many, many videogames.

    Considering the competition is over, I'm kinda sad I never thought of this 'till now;

    Supersonic RC - Map Download

    Car finished: I didn't bother making the model any higher-poly or redrawing the textures. As I said before, if anyone by some miracle decides to build this car in LDraw, I'd happily bring that model into Blender and set it up instead for a much better quality car, but otherwise this'll do for now. There are a couple of other things I'm working on concurrently to this project that I'd like to finish first, but after they're done I'll get to work exporting these for use in Unreal Engine and making a basic free-roam game. Hopefully I can start within a week or two.
