LEGO Racers HD (mod project, WIP)

Since I was bored and had nothing else to do today, I decided to whip up an adjusted version of the flag myself in HD from scratch: It's really rough around the edges in multiple places (probably 'cos, y'know, I'm not exactly the greatest artist in the world), but the point here is that there's much more to HD-ing games than getting the original textures and smoothening out the edges. I appreciate that you're really into doing this thing, and that's fine - it's just that you've gotta do more than just smoothen the jaggies to make textures look good innit. Often the point of HD-izing a game is to redraw as many textures as possible whilst still remaining the aesthetic of the original, and that's something that waifu2x can't offer. tl;dr: creating new art in the same style > just removing the jaggies and such from the old ones through quick and easy means.

    Xarton, the Crusher

Once Xarton was the Protector of Okoto's Earth region, but during Makuta's uprising he fell victim to the temptation of power that was promised when he aligned himself with Makuta. Makuta used his dark powers to transform Xarton into a stronger being with massive claws and impervious armor. Xarton was sent by Makuta to seek out Lothar, the ancient guardian of the Earth region, and retrieve him for Makuta to corrupt, but he was never heard from again after he descended into the caverns of Okoto. "Behind the Virtual camera" - The shenangians beyond my renders

Hullo all, Over the past couple of months, I've been looking at my past LEGO Source Filmmaker renders and discovering how untidy or buggy it has become over the past year. So today I thought I'd put together a collection of pictures/screenshots, all based on strange behind-the-scenes stuff and bugs that have plagued my past renders. So here we go! "Blended Minifigures" Everytime @Xiron updates his pack of SFM/GMod minifigs (even if the model's rig isn't edited), Source Filmmaker tries to replace the old models with the new ones, yet fails in a spectacular way: "Flex face fudge-up" I wasn't aware of these UV map "mistakes" until I made the "PIRATES!?" poster. "Brothers of shoddy arms" After I released the original "LEGO Rock Raider christmas desktop background" 2016 pack, Xiron fixed up the UV textures of the Rock Raider model. As a result, this minor arm texture issue has been popping up every now and again. "The shenanigans behind the scenes" (The following aren't really "bugs" or strange artefacts from a long while ago, but some people might find this bit interesting) Usually a scene looks fine from the camera's POV, but not everything is as it seems. Here are some weird things you don't see beyond the camera. ...and lastly, and more recently... "Post-Nuclear Warfare Classic LEGO Games collection" In an attempt to find the most screwed up session render, I came across my first poster with Xiron's "Classic LEGO Games" pack, made 2 years ago for the release of the Garry's Mod pack. And... yes it was messed up... But I didn't expect it to be the aftermath of a bloody Nuclear warfare. I hope you've enjoyed this... uneducational insight behind the scenes of my somewhat corrupted collection of old/unused LEGO renders. Thank you for your time. -- Ben24x7 --

    LEGO Dimensions

PhotonX? Never heard of them... ...hang on... *A quick google search later* http://www.photon-x.com/ So, they do a lot of R&D stuff about 3D scanning. Sounds interesting, but if it was implemented into LEGO Dimensions there'd probably be a lot of limitations with it (e.g. it probably wouldn't be compatible with "old" LEGO bricks/pieces/prints/minifigs). Vehicles, in my mind, would be physically impossible to scan in. So yeah, that last wave sounds like a pipe dream.

[Fix] Low Framerate On Windows 8

Good to know. I don't think I've had monitors at anything but 60hz, or if I did it was as a kid, when of course I didn't pay any attention to such things. Not that I know of... What was the most common monitor refresh rate back in 2001 anyway? Also might be worth noting Silicon Dreams was based in the UK... Did they have different standards than the US? I don't know enough about the history these things to come to any conclusions.

The FMVs contain some minor issues...

noticed quite a few more during my crusade: nubby's face is missing aswell cdrom is faceless and sinks in the ground: now in the bad ending: the obvious non-lego car behind the brickster is missing a lot of tris: the bridge support clips through the hill and finally, pepper has square hands can go through bricks with his skateboard:

    GBA Maps

Here's something I've noticed: those 2x4s embedded in the ground appear to have no tubes at the bottom. So either the Brickster is using bricks from the 50's or the artists simply couldn't be arsed to draw them. And considering this is LI2 you should already know the answer.
