    LEGO Worlds News And Discussion

I like how most of the negative reviews have spelling and grammar errors. Hmm... I wonder why...

    LEGO Worlds News And Discussion

While all of us are just loving this and half a stud way from making a gush post... .... the forums are aflame again. Check this out - the Negative Reviews section. Most of the flame is around the fact that you now need 100 Gold Bricks to generate infinite worlds. Many people have pointed out that the big "Early Access" label exists for a reason, but they're met with the same response as before when TT did a "2-for-1" sale. And it's confirmed - the Elimbiers have come over to buy LW and rant.

It's Pi Day! Here's a stupid method for calculating Pi.

Here. The gist is that it recursively creates and calculates the area of squares that compose a circle with radius 1, and totals the area of those squares to get Pi.

LEGO Island 2 GBC Engine 2017 Remake

Hey guys! I'm back... wow, I haven't been here in quite a LONG while, haven't I? Well, a while ago, in 2014, I decided to try my hand at remaking the basics of the LEGO Island 2 GBC engine using GameMaker... however it wasn't that good... BUT now that I got a lot better at programming (and there's GameMaker Studio) I decided to "revive" my engine, and try making it as accurate as possible. CURRENT FEATURES Full Pepper movement including regular & blue pizza chukka, skateboard and boat The entire Island (with maps ripped by Aparkee) All cards (courtesy of mumboking) with an ACTUALLY fair random system unlike the "Achu curse" RNG mess in the real GBC version smh Talking NPCs (the ones that move are still a little glitchy) Animated water and sharks PLANNED FEATURES: Better depth system All other maps from the game Fixed glitches of course Basic "quests" system (like the shark food at Phanta Sea) Multiple playable characters (?) More cards (?) SCREENSHOTS: DOWNLOAD DEMO CONTROLS: Arrow Keys - Move Space - "A" Button (shoot & talk) Z - "B" Button (switch to skate mode) Backspace - "Select" Button (go to cards screen) Alt+Enter - Fullscreen F2 - Restart PageDown - Reset collected cards & chests (Debug key) V - Go through solid objects ("no clip") (Debug key)

LEGO Island 2 GBC Engine 2017 Remake

the skateboard thing wasn't intentional, but I really dunno how I would change that to be more accurate. But it doesn't hurt... Now, that area has 2 issues - that, and the "water fences" I'll fix them soon

    HTML5 Rock Raiders Remake

    1) That's correct. 2) That's how I'd do it, anyway. Probably in the same "finish drilling" function that generates the ore/crystal items. 3) Ah, I forgot to mention this one, since GeoTool (as a map editor) had to ignore this behavior. The engine requires any wall tiles to exist in at least 2x2 "chunks", or they'll collapse. The straightforward way to test this is to check each of a wall's 4 corners for whether or not they're part of a chunk, and if none of them are, destroy the wall. Do this for all of the drilled wall's neighbors (if they're walls). One of the vanilla levels actually has a wall that's "invalid", not part of a 2x2 chunk. It collapses immediately upon starting the level. But another complication to consider is that hidden caverns are counted as "walls" by the engine until they're discovered, so 1-unit-thick walls don't collapse if there's a hidden cavern on the other side. To handle both cases, it'd be useful to have a "isWallOrHidden" function to use instead of just "isWall" in the "isPartOfChunk" test; depends on how your engine works though.

Look what I won in an Ebay Bid.

:slimyslugnoise: Oooooh, ooooooooooh..... Very shiny! may or may not have modded that to drill through Hard Rock in 0.1 of a second... ... but it takes 20 crystals to teleport down and 1000 ore to upgrade the drill... ... oh, did I mention I buffed the laser on it too?
