Lego Rock Raiders in Unity (Canceled)

@Overjay Thanks, I'm GLaD you like it. Lighting is something I'll need to handle carefully, as there is the potential to have light sources all over the place (buildings/paths/crystals/dynamite/slugs/barriers/e-fences) but I am going to have to be conservative with some of these otherwise there'll just be an overload of colours & effects that could lower performance (even on a good computer). This being said however, I will probably substitute some of these potential lights with flare effects, freeing up space for other lights. @Mikkel246 Yeah they'll walk over the lava in Driller Night as well as the water in Frozen Frenzy but it's only if there is no other way to get there. There needs to be some tweaking to the A* algorithm. (At the moment walls, lava & water are just weighted high in their nav-mesh, but there needs to be a separate clause to deal with things that are impassable then they can all be added to that category.) Lots to do But thankfully, lots of hard things already done.2 points -

Finally got the building sites working. - The raiders don't place the barriers themselves, but will still have to go and collect the resources themselves. v0.07 coming in the next hour or so.2 points -
Which program for recording LR?

Fraps spits out massive files and the free version can only record 30 second clips with a watermark. I still use it just because I bought it like 7 years back and it's convenient to use (aside from the video file sizes), but I wouldn't recommend it. If you want something free, there's OBS Studio and OBS Classic: https://obsproject.com/download1 point -

Heh, I'm not too worried about lower end hardware as I'm mostly trying to get the old game to run on new hardware, but it's good to know it still runs well. - Thank Unity for that There will be some optimizations to come too, which is good for everybody.1 point -

@Mikkel246 Yeah these are all known. The buildings one will be addressed when I come to do object spawning properly in maps (like the crystals in the middle of the lake). The vehicles will all be dealt with in one go when I make them usable. The dialog overlapping is something I plan to address next version as there'll be a few more to add as well. I did slow the raiders down because I realised they were a bit fast in the last version when compared to footage of the original game. - I had to do this to ensure the rate the air supply ran out was in keeping with the difficulty to create a support station. - All variables like this are subject to change anyway as things balance out over time.1 point -

The best way for anyone to support this project is to play the heck out of it. I can only do so much play-testing.1 point -

I can't take any money for this - even though Data Design Interactive is defunct, Lego Media is defunct & the RockRaiders trademark has expired, this is still a Lego game - I'm merely reviving something we all love. Also don't worry, I do this in my spare time, money isn't what I'm after: a playable RockRaiders is what I'm shooting for here.1 point -

I don't know if there's a guide on these forums, but I found what you're looking for on the PCGamingWiki. http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Island_Xtreme_Stunts#Game_crashes_on_startup1 point
