Shadowblaze's Summer Catchup
TheDiplomat reacted to Shadowblaze for a blog entry
As promised, here's a single post containing some of my videos, from this summer onwards! This is a TouHou style track I started two years ago right after finishing Champion Battle, but I remade it from scratch with my new composition style. Unlike other tracks inspired by the same source, this one is a full-fledged composition! This one is a rather unusual track for my standards, being more focused on experimental atmosphere and ambience than anything. Melodies are very scattered and are by far the least important element here. This is a pretty basic House track, it's nothing too extreme but it's definitely a refreshing take on such a stale genre! And last, but not least, this is a track I made as an example to show to a game developer who contacted me. I didn't even get to send it to him, so I decided to upload it. It's a JRPG-syle background music with very Japanese-y elements and floaty harmonies. And that's all! Enjoy!1 point -

What Sandy Bay looks like when the Apocalypse struck It's still a work in progress mod but hopefully sooner or later the full release will be out. Any ideas on what should be in this mod?1 point -
Apocalypse Bay Mod
Redacted reacted to aidenpons for a topic
You could turn the trees' leaves invisible, so you're left with barren stumps. You'd need to also get rid of most of the greenery in the terrain as well. Also how did you get rid of that accursed powerup delay?1 point -
LEGO Stunt Rally version differences
Lair reacted to jojo337 for a topic
I possibly got a "newer French version", the CD is from 2003. I'm trying to install it but my dvd drive is dying... it takes a very long time to install with a lot of strange noises... I thinks the speed is to 1x because the loading bar of the installation is so slow ^^ http://www.noelshack.com/2017-47-3-1511314330-20171122-0217536.jpg http://www.noelshack.com/2017-47-3-1511314331-20171122-0218136.jpg EDIT Stuntrally.exe : 0.3.7.9, in fact all files are 1999/2000 when installed, and I can't run the game in W10 x64 :p. it works when copying d3drm.dll file from system32 to the directory of the game _msr.exe is 0.3.8.1 so it's the same for you it seems.. http://www.noelshack.com/2017-47-3-1511314670-sans-titre.png But Speech and Arts files are differents, in hour (same day) and size, but it's maybe because the language is different (French) http://www.noelshack.com/2017-47-3-1511315277-sans-titre.png (All the track names in folders are translated too !)1 point -

Terrain retexture for Magma Moon Marathon
ShadowDraikana reacted to ReflectedMantis for a topic
Sooo... I decided I wanted some new textures for a track. I chose magma moon marathon. It was originally so I could figure out how to do it (it was so easy :P). But It turned out looking really good in my opinion. Now, let's see how everyone else thinks of it http://oresome.rockraidersunited.com/download/405 (I would've posted screenshots, but for some reason it wouldn't let me)1 point -
Super Golden Bricks
ShadowDraikana reacted to Car CrazeXVI for a topic
This mod makes Golden Bricks reflect the current sky box rather than a golden Sandy Bay skybox. As you can imagine, this can be pretty interesting. http://oresome.rockraidersunited.com/download/386 Goes in COMMON\MODELS\PICKUPS This is actually about the first mod I made for LR2, way back when the GTC extractor was new. I don't know why it never got released. That's a lie, I know exactly why it didn't get released: I could never find where the damn thing is located and I was too lazy anyway.1 point -

LEGO Stunt Rally development artwork
Lair reacted to k-g for a topic
@jamesster: Wow, you really know your bricks! Pretty interesting to see that some of these bricks were never released in those colors. I don't really remember, but I think we may have received some of those models. We had no idea at the time these were using rare pieces though! I guess that would make them worth quite a bit to a collector these days. @JimBobJeffers: These models were made at the time while I was working on a different game. I would re-join the team later, by when the characters and most of the vehicle designs had been finalized. I'm pretty sure our team intended to have original characters only for the game, and not use any existing Lego characters. The jungle boss, Snake, was based on Colonel Kurtz from Apocolypse Now - his face paint is inspired by Kurtz's face paint pattern. Here is the next batch of photos (dated 29-9-1999). Another failed attempt at the muscle car, by the looks of it. This is easily my favorite design of the X-car. Probably didn't pass the safety test. (Yes, still more to come!)1 point -
Thumper
Lair reacted to Cirevam for a topic
Thumper Prerequisites: Tool Store\Teleport Pad\Power Station Cost: 8 Ore, 1 Crystal Foundation Area: 1 tile (though the piping overlaps the adjacent square, it can be driven through) Effective Range: 2 squares away Description: The Thumper is a perimeter defense structure, much like the Electric Fence but fulfilling a different role. As Slimy Slugs are generally immune to the fence or crawl right under it, the Thumper creates strong shockwaves which scare slugs who get too close. The sound of the compressor running also annoys slugs, so it acts much like a large version of the Sonic Blaster. However, one must take care that building Thumpers next to walls may cause landslides, and they are completely ineffective against Rock Monsters. Yes, the pneumatics actually work, and it makes a decent plastic thump. I want to see a lot of entries this time, so this is why I'm posting mine now instead of near the end. I don't care about winning, I'm just trying to motivate all of you. EDIT: Lowered effective range. Three is too much as you could have one Thumper defending a large tunnel which throws it out of balance. Two is better because you still have four squares of separation between multiple Thumpers but you also can't stick it in the middle of a cluster of buildings and expect it to defend all of them.1 point -

Rail Runner
Lair reacted to Fush for a topic
I have been playing around with the idea of "Rock Raider Trains" for a long time now, and, well, finally made something from it. It's not very original, basically I took the small transport truck and put it on rails. Removed the bucket, and put another front on the back (so it can go both ways). Also put the seat on a turntable to face whatever direction you are going and replaced the steering wheel (since who needs to steer a train?) with a lever that simply tells the cab which way to roll. Put little clasps on to attach more cars. And POW new vehicle. I included a laser car as an example. The laser is pulled off of the SMLC (sort of, IDK how the actual laser part is attached to I improvised that part) and put on a train car, yeah. I plan to make more cars for different, specialized purposes. Feel free to suggest one. Currently plan on doing: -Freight car, with buckets to carry ore and HOPEFULLY a dumping function -passenger car, to carry additional Raiders -Drill car, that attaches to FRONT of vehicle to be pushed against walls. -Small vehicle transport car ...yeah. Power Car: Cargo Car:1 point -
Lego Rock Raiders HQ [MOC] 7000 parts!
Lair reacted to -DoNe- for a topic
After 2 months of building I where able to finish this giant! I don't even know where to start, it have taken so long and it have been so fun to watch it grow over the weeks (but I have to admit it got a little boring to build some of the rock sections). At some points I had my doubts that I would be able to finish it of due to how massive it was and when I constantly realized that I had to make it bigger too fit this and that but in the end it was worth it! The finished models weights in at 7,7kg (around 20 pounds/16lbs and have something between 7000-8000 parts! Sorry for the bad picture btw! by =DoNe=, on Flickr by =DoNe=, on Flickr by =DoNe=, on Flickr1 point -
