    LEGO Island Videos

Here is the first video Lorin produced! Captain Click..! Further info: As seen from the intro, this was produces at Flying Rhino and features Captain Click as baddie stealing bricks from under kid's beds. Wes has talked about this video, and it was a proposal for a TV series - but LEGO wasn't interested.

High Quality LEGO Island Music - downloads!

As you may have heard, Lorin Nelson has got hold of cassettes of LEGO Island's music - meaning much better quality music than before. A lot of people have expressed interest in lossless downloads, so we put them up online! Link to music More will be add to the page when more is transferred and we get permission from some of the other artists. Some of my personal favorites like Brick by Brick and the park theme have already been included. We're also planning on making a tuned-up collection of the complete OST. We're doing some tweaks to the music since transferring analog tapes is never perfect, and brings some noise and off frequencies with it. Enjoy the tracks! (PS. Lots of lots of love and thanks to Lorin for this, he's done so much work transferring all these tapes!)

There is now a NexusMods page for LRR

If you don't know, NexusMods is a website that's meant to be a database of all sorts of modifications, tools, levels and whatnot for various games, and anyone can upload to it. Today, a page for Lego Rock Raiders has been created: https://www.nexusmods.com/legorockraiders/ It might be a good idea to upload your creations there in addition to the RRU site, as it will mean less of chance of files being lost in the event of links being expired and such.

    Bring back the chat!

The chat's also a bit of a mess for Cyrem to sort out; it's not like there's a simple checkmark box that says "Enable Shoutbox." IIRC it also costs money when DIscord is free. I agree that I enjoyed it and I'd personally like it back, but I know others don't ; during the time of the shoutbox there was the RRU Skype Chat as well, so it's hardly like the Discord addition is actually new. While I'm not in the Discord server myself (mostly because I don't know most of you enough to meaningfully converse; although yes, joining the Discord would assist with that. Anyway, I'm getting off topic), I understand that a decent deal of... activity goes on in there. I think that there was a topic about this but I cannot remember where to find it. I disagree entirely. (each word is a separate link) RRU has never been hectic, and it's always possible to read up on everything that's happened - something I quite like about the forum, but that's another rant). RRU's pace has always been quiet - sometimes moreso than others, I will agree on that. Join the Discord! It's RRU's shoutbox, but miles nicer to use, won't explode unexpectedly, has no five-person limit, works fine on mobile, has a nice desktop application too if that's up your street, also works in the web browser too, and is a well-written piece of software. And free.

    Bring back the chat!

    >bring back the shoutbox!!! >me starts to remember why we moved to discord instead of using the shoutbox lol I mean the shoutbox was wonky to use and especially during 2016 where it was almost impossible to join the chatroom without getting magically booted off so I'd rather stick to discord instead. sorry man but discord is such a BETTER alternative

    Bring back the chat!

I'm gonna assume you are referring to the shoutbox the site used to once have. While I do admit, it was cool to just go to the site, and have it right there, so you can jump right in and talk with whomever else was on it at the time. I don't think things in the community were slowed down by the chat box being removed. I mean sure, I guess one could argue that with the long downtime the site had for a while, and the chatbox being gone, that the website died, but that's just not the case (in my eyes, that is) It ultimately comes down to the fact that not everyone has the time to be active on the site like we once used to be. We have grown up, and just dont have the same time for the site like we did all that time ago. When we do find something interesting, people will post about it (and people have been, especially for LEGO Island stuff), but right now, there isn't that much else to really talk about, or discuss. Also, it seems you have issue with the discord. Why might that be? care to elaborate upon that?

Something's wrong with the new emotes

(from this thread, but other examples aren't too hard to find) Aside from Ben's new emotes starting to roll their way in one of which is a lovely tongue smiley that I might actually start to use , and also aside that the 1000+ emoji list will freeze RRU whilst loading... .... what's going on with those ones there? Oddly they don't seem to be accessible. ? and ? , uppercase and lowercase O, both bring in something from the default set (zero, works as usual), and :af: does nothing at all. And I can't seem to find them in the emoji list either. Though I am surprised to find the Smiley Story has not broken beyond all recognition.

Something's wrong with the new emotes

I've deleted the old revision, thats why :af: doesn't work and a few other select ones like : o . Those giant emotes are because I changed the CSS, if you F5 they should vanish and turn back into their text forms. The 1000+ set is just the standard emoji set you find mostly everywhere these days, they're in there because we have to support them.

Ogel Island - Multiplayer RP/Sandbox/Minigame Game

EDIT: WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON WITH THESE EMOTES AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Oh wow, this is fantastic! I hadn't realised you were so far along Well done on making it.... possibly the farthest ever achieved by a Lego game remake? Keep it up if you can! I think we need to pull out the strobes to celebrate! All you need is the powerups and you'll basically have Lego Racers - although you've got to have that main menu music before we can truly call it Lego Racers No, you don't need to make them dumber; when we get our hands on it we'll invent interesting ways to beat the AI Also, when you add LR1's powerup functionality into the mix (please don't implement LR2, Stunt Rally, or Drome Racers' powerup system! ) the player will be able to use powerups much more strategically than the AI. So don't bother with a nerf just yet. Keep up the truly amazing work!
