Maze
phenix8fr reacted to aidenpons for a topic
More of an NPL experiment than a truly playable custom level, I present to you this: Stay on the paths and the next one lights up ahead of you. Step off the paths and you lose. (Why is everything looking non-LRR-y? I'm running Time Raiders, partly to show it off ) I haven't bothered to tidy everything into a plug-n-chug format but everything is indeed usable right here, if you want it (should run fine on vanilla LRR). The interesting bit is of course the NPL and tutorial block map. The tutorial block map has the LRR at 19 and counts down to 1 on the tuto block in front of the Command Ship. The NPL is put in a spoiler here: The interesting bit is the usage of a loop to find which tile the LRR is at. Then just subtract one from that and put a power path down on the next tile. If it couldn't find the LRR on any tutorial tile, fail the level and send monsters out. One would suppose that if I were to put the lines TRUE ? SetTutorialBlockIsPath GetR1 TRUE ? SetTutorialBlockIsPath GetR3 next to the other TRUE ? SetTutorialBlockIsPath GetR2 the game would work flawlessly, making power paths ahead, on the raider, and behind. Except it doesn't, and won't do what you want at all, spawning no power paths instead of three. My theory so far is that when the game sees a SetTutorialBlockIsPath command it will no longer execute any more SetTutorialBlockIsPath commands for that run of the NPL. This isn't the first instance of the NPL playing up, and I've noticed that re-ordering lines will actually change the outcome (even if all you switched was TRUE ? AddR1 1 and TRUE ? GenerateSlug). I have two further comments to make: 1) Perhaps this would be more playable and more fun if the game didn't point out where the next Power Path was, and you had to get it by trial and error. That's easy to do; on the SetTutorialBlockIsPath line change GetR2 to GetR1. However, this also might be incredibly trolling... 2) Why is the maze so short, I hear you ask? With @Cyrem's map creator there's an arbitary limit of 20 tutorial blocks (Thank you so much for your utility Cyrem! Nothing would be possible without it!) Is there any chance this could be... increased?1 point -

LRR But Without the Crust
phenix8fr reacted to Shay for a topic
I picked up LRR again because I never finished Baz's Mod when I last played it. I had the idea of remaking the UI textures in HD - mostly just for fun, but these could make a nice mod someday. I started off with the mouse cursor. Here's the original, upscaled 4x for ease of viewing... ...And here's my HD version, made from scratch! I'll likely add more textures to this thread as I create them. Thoughts and feedback are always appreciated!1 point -
Campaign 2 91% Complete | Now: First Level-Correcting Phase|
phenix8fr reacted to Hammerkraft for a topic
Hi! I know, its a lot of time gone. And sadly, its not that much that is left to do. There are (if I remember correctly) just 3 Levels that dont worked, all others was playable. In the progress of making this Campaign 2 I learned over the years some things, which would improve the Gameplay of the levels, like the Trigger-function. But with integrating these new Mechanics I spend more and more time into the same level, more than just for getting an first, completely playable Campaign 2. And for the last 2 Years now, I had no more time to continueing, in case of weeks with up to 80+h per 7d of "work" (study). So, just to be sure, I have all that Data up to now, so nothing is lost or so, it "just" need to get a finish. But as the last years I cant say when I will get that time :/ I want you to know, that Im still on it, but had to see "Life is Hard". Best regards, Hammerkraft1 point -

Unlimited Buildings & Vehicles (LRR)
phenix8fr reacted to Cyrem for a topic
There has been one limitation to overhauls (among many) that has stood out as highly restrictive. You can't add any more than 11 buildings or Vehicles without the game crashing. May I present the fruits of pain and labour.... Thats 13 Buildings, all buildable. I haven't tested more than this, but in theory it should support many more. Want to Add buildings that can be placed in levels that can't be built from the menu? > Yes it's possible too, 1x1px menu image & Impossible dependencies will do it. How?!? You will learn more when I post about any upcoming overhaul project. Till then, enjoy the fact that this limitation is defeated.1 point -
LRR Inspired Music Tracks
phenix8fr reacted to C0RE_0F_L1FE for a topic
Hey all! I'm new to the site! Lego Rock Raiders has been a great childhood memory for me. One of my most favorite PC games for sure! One thing I loved about the game was the unique music tracks that immersed me into the game. In my spare time I enjoy producing music. Been doing it for a good 10 years now. I figured "Hey why don't I try creating some LRR inspired music tracks!" I tried to keep some of the sounds, and FX of the original LRR music tracks. I'm not super familiar with the PlayStation tracks because I played the PC version WAY MORE. So these will have more of the PC version Musictracks "vibe". I would like to produce and release at least 4 tracks that can be used here on the forum and used in the game! This track is mostly done just a few more tweaks here and there and it will be done! UPDATE! 5/9/17 9:35pm This track I now consider to be complete! Hope you Enjoy! =D http://oresome.rockraidersunited.com/download/499 Give me some feedback on this one and let me know what you think! If you like it, I'll continue to work on some more! d-_-b1 point -
Top-down LRR demake sprites
phenix8fr reacted to Shay for a topic
Yesterday, someone on the RRU Discord suggested the idea of a top-down LRR game in the style of Lego Loco. I have begun making sprites for such a game! Here is a gif I put together of a Raider carrying an Energy Crystal, to demonstrate the sprite style. Of course, I still have to make the sprites for him walking up and down, as well as his arm-swinging animation for when he's walking without holding anything. I'll also make sprites of him being scared and using tools and weapons.1 point -

Made this cuz I was bored. It's 100% accurate, though.1 point -
I found some crystals.
phenix8fr reacted to Exkajer for a topic
Small fun with OL file. I wanted to fill 9 ground fields like this, but game dont accept more than 150 crystals this way (with more I get crash). Funny (or, better say, not funny) thing is that, when I changed crystals to ice monsters, game also crashed. But 100 crystals on one ground is ok and playable.1 point -
