You look disgusting. No, there is not. It is not broken, and does not require fixing. I'm sorry that it doesn't live up to your lofty standards, but it serves it's purpose well, none of the other players have a problem with it, and frankly, I am a little insulted that you have the gall to march in here and go "HEY this looks terrible I can do it better." Show some respect, like Rob said. I have no idea what this even means. As good of an idea as this is, I don't see it working at all. Wouldn't players spawn on the top floor?

Version 2.1 it is, then! >Altered color scheme, less black >Replaced saws with lasers because lasers are sexier than saws >Redid front yet again because it was bothering me >Part choice slightly altered to fit new color scheme >Added blocks to restrict the movement of wheels so they don't implode LXF file

    Brickster Skin!

In races, his hand is colored. He even has a face for every emotion, because I ripped them straight from Lego Island 2. Thanks to mumboking for telling me where they were, because those files are such a mess I never would have found them otherwise. Replaces all the AL faces and TU_CHST. My only regret is that there is no backwards hat or knit cap for him to wear. https://ore.rockraidersunited.org/legacy/Brickster_561163.zip

What actually ARE these little boxes? What do the arrows do on them? Why are they here?

It was more a joke really. I don't plan to keep the lasers there at all. But hose slopes should stay yellow- I've tried recoloring them. Yellow is the only color that looks decent. I will remove the lasers themselves but keep the claw block there, even if there is noting attached to it. I like it. I think I know what you mean, here, but that isn't really an option. The previous undercarriage left no room for the rubber band holders, and now, the rubber band holders leave no room for the original undercarriage. What I have now is fine, I think. I like those studs, actually. They were put there intentionally to give a little texture, and because it looks even dumber without them. I've tried putting things on them and nothing looks right. All in all, I have to disagree with you overall. I like this version much better than before (lasers notwithstanding) EDIT: sorry if I sounded a bit stubborn. I played around with the front a bit, how does this look? I'm still probably going to put the black clamps back and change the slopes back to yellow, but at least I'm trying different things to see what works.

    Fishing and Snake-Shooting

These are some tips on two mini-games (with accompanying screenshots): Snake Game First off, the Snake-Shooting game on Adventurer's Island, where you are controlling a coconut gun. Don't ask me how the physics work. This is Lego. It does not have to obey the laws of physics. Panning and repeatedly tapping the spacebar works really well. You need to spaz out dat spacebar with one hand and pan from one side of the channel to the other. Nearly all snakes will get zapped by this. Occasionally one will succeed in getting through, but that's when you blast it manually. Sadly, shooting the Brickster-Bots does nothing. No points. Better to attack the snakes and hold your ground. Doing this generally results in a very very high score and a gold medal. (Note: The maximum score that actually shows in-game is probably around 13,000 but the max score at the end of the game is only 10,000. That seems to be a cap since it also occurs in other games: Whack-A-Bot, the snake whacking game (with the jems) and a couple of other ones. Fish Game This is, of course, the long and generally droning fish game by the oasis. This is a really nice spot to go fishing. The small fish come really close to shore, where Big Bertha doesn't come. Also, Big Bertha also comes close to shore - but in a different place. Because of the closeness, it takes no time at all (compared to the usual) to haul in Big Bertha. And some tips on this minigame as a whole: You can rotate where you aim for with left & right arrow keys. If you're not happy with your cast you can always haul it back in and get your bait back. Because you can only haul in and not go further out, make sure you always overcast. Since there in no timer whatsoever, make sure you know where all the fish go so that you won't prematurely end your game by accidentally catching Big Bertha. You can, of course, just let her take the bait and not reel her in. The good thing is that Pepper will automatically reel in the line in case there is no bait on the line. The quicker the Tension-o-meter goes down, the fewer points it is. This is the only time where real physics trumps over game mechanics in LI2. Since you can wander round lax in this area, it is a very happy spot for glitches. Here are some tastes of what you can accomplish: There's lots more to see! Things like racing and flying!

The other advantage is that Big Bertha also comes up close, making for a far shorter game.

This is a really good fishing spot. The small fry come up really close and Big Bertha doesn't come to where they lurk.

    Medium Transport Truck

Well I took all your suggestions into account, and present version two of the Medium Transport Truck. It's still not perfect but it's a whole lot better. >Now significantly lager than small transport truck >More room for cargo >Redid wheels to allow for suspension, should work if I had rubber bands in LDD.... >Lighter grey added to color scheme >Added saws >Redid front, looks better now >Simpler undercarriage, no more unnecessary fluff. EDIT: due to having the same file name, dropbox replaced this version's file with the slightly altered version, found below.

    Kingdom Come

Prologue Every day is a new adventure. Every breath we take could potentially send us right into the void of space and time, to a realm far beyond human understands where all has happened becomes irrelevant, and all that will happen has no meaning. In a single millisecond, so many variables change that we are the sum of billions of calculations a minute, riding a giant rock flying through the vast and dark coldness of space. And yet, to be human is to forget yourself in the moment, and focus on only what's important. What a great thing none of us are human. Chapter One - The Cycle RRU Corp. A giant civilisation under the guise of a "business" within its own state of Australia. Leading provider of data solutions. Antique collecting and restorations. Loony bin for the criminally insane. Having the great privilege of working there is like being handed the keys to a zoo, only too find out that you're working with a pack of monkeys; insanity breeds. Thankfully, insanity is one of the great commodities traded within RRU Corp, among other meaningless properties. Labels have no meaning when everything starts burning. My name is McJobless, and most of those fires are caused by me. Recently promoted to Editor, and renown for being the main generator for RRU's second most precious resource; flames. I dish it out hard and fast. It's the only way to survive amongst the constant rage of RRU's giant wheels that are the rest of the community. Of course, some might disagree, but we can cover them later. Every day starts the same way; the new kids on the block run one step in the wrong direction, and the flood of alarm bells ring. Waking up is a slow, annoying process, especially considering how heavily wasted I usually get every night. Sometimes it's the only way to get past every horrible action that goes on in the seedy underbelly. My room is nothing particularly fancy; a simple desk setup with a bed nearby, some drawings on the wall and computer parts scattered everywhere. It's not uncommon to find the occasional missing LEGO brick right where you least want it; under your foot. Organisation and cleanliness are the least of my concerns, though, and especially after clearing away the entire hanger that used to occupy my floor, things have become increasingly more simple and slow-going; a side-effect of maturation, no doubt. Entering the elevator, one can always be greeted with a few "friendly" greetings from other employees; if Joe decides to wake up, he's usually touchy-feely, to the detriment of Zeph. Antillies sits in the back, waiting for somebody to mess up before he slams them with a bout of logic and common sense, something lacking in the RRU commodity pool. Jamesster tends to be fairly useless, having spent most of the night before devoting his little sanity left into producing a parody that will rip the world apart. Alcom is Alcom. Other members sometimes come and go, but the classics seem to stand far above the crowd, none moreso than Cirevam the Omnipotent; likely due to some ancient ritual he performed after being ordained by the now-retired Cyrem. We ride that single elevator down to Level 2, the main working level. The atmosphere in this level is mostly oxygen, but occasionally somebody'll pump something a little more potent into the mix, just to see the results. The space itself is fairly open, with each person regularly swapping desks in favour of one day finding the "perfect spot". Considering that the RRU building is more like Howl's Moving Castle than a stationary thing built to purpose, it's unlikely one would ever keep such a spot for longer than the time it took to claim they found it. We all get on with out work, which mostly consists of file research, posting, moderation and so on. A pretty relaxed day of work, if you're not me. Of course, by this time, eyes are all staring at me; the regular members are ready to see the most exciting thing that'll happen all day, the moderators are standing-by with hammers and first-aid kits in case the fire rises, and Cirevam sits in shadow, deciding on what side-burn wax would suit him best. Frankly, he's got better things to do than deal with petty online arguments. Justice is swift, and a flood of animated images tends to shut the new kids up fast. They work on Level 1 for protection, away from the majority of the other members who openly celebrate every tiny victory over the League of Mind-Numbing-Failures. Most of them don't survive long; the shock of being hit by a wall of fire tends to send most of them away. Some braves souls fight back, but it doesn't last long. Needless to say, I've done this for a long time. The mornings pass quickly after that. Inactivity is regularity. Most of the day's work is done within the first few hours, and the rest are spent partying or organising raid parties on places such as LNA. It's easy to pick on those who make themselves targets. The hours pass by. Addict pops in with his Linux-for-Life speeches, and others listen in trance, wondering what would be good for lunch. It's not uncommon for science discussions to rage, alongside just about any other topic; just be careful on what you say, though. There's many a sore point between members, such as telling Antilles about why Breaking Bad is better than Game of Thrones, or telling Le that he sounds exactly like Spongebob, to the point where one might actually think he is the voice actor. Eventually, many head back up to their levels and sleep. Some are in the barracks, others have purchased real estate. It's not much, but it's home, and with an interest rate of 1000%+ (courtesy of the Imperial Bank), you better damn well like it. The rent is expensive, but it's better than being lost in an eternal loop of pitch-black space. Most days run like this; a cosmic cycle that never breaks, except when things go to their absolute worse. Unfortunately, that happens quite regularly, and the moderators have a code for it. "Drama." Little did I know that the next day, I would be dragged right into the bloody middle of it. Welcome to RRU.

    Research On The Li2 Files

My research on some LI2 files through a Hex editor. I did post this over on TIC already, but I figured it currently wouldn't get much attention there. Hopefully some of this will come in handy to someone here who knows more on reversing files. I would like to thanks legomoe for giving me an example and helping me understand. Note: The following are based off of the files in z02LGI.bod/bob. The stuff underlined and in bold are the folder names. Anim .blk files ABLK = Header of file, no size. ASKL = The size of this in bytes is.. I have no certain idea! Files in camera folder (whatever the name was). They start with CAMA and are followed by 01 00 00 00 bytes. The files are all the same length. (after those bytes, the length is 18) Cutscene .cut files ...I HAVE NO IDEA! (not going to bother mentioning the .txt files, because those are obvious what kind of files those are. ) Lights Some worlds/places, like the main island [z02LGI] have only .lgt files. Ogel (not sure if other places) have more files like .lgt_pos2, .lgt_set1_1point-red, .lgt_set2_lots of pointlamps_amb1_dir.5, lgt_set3_lotsofpoint_amb.1_dir1. I didn't look into these other files (yet) as they aren't in z02LGI. .lgt files. File length is pretty much the same length in all places. They all start with LGTL, not sure if there is a specific byte rate for the rest of it or not. MatAnim .man Starts with MATA There is nothing to work with to calculate the value (not that I can see). It's a matter of guessing I guess. Wait..., okay, on the file skboard.man I put it to 4 and I'm seeing some similar things. I dunno, maybe one of you can take a look at it... or, set it to 12, I'm seeing a pattern of ÃŒ¼Å’+ÃŒ¼Å’+ÃŒ¼Å’+ [CC BC 8C 2B CC BC 8C 2B CC BC 8C 2B in bytes] (aka CC BC 8C 2B repeated 3 times in a row). I'm checking, another file, it seems to be the same kind of thing, except the ÃŒ¼Å’+ÃŒ¼Å’+ÃŒ¼Å’+ values are different on each file... or actaually, I'm seeing ..€?..€?..€? appear in each file, so maybe that's something. Particle .app .emi .mov .par can all be edited with a text editor! (so it seems). .app contains things like colour, size, what sprite image to use (not sure where it is located, texture folder?), and other stuff. .emi controls lifespan, density, force, and angles. .mov controls gravity, and also something called "Air" (fAir and fDAir to be exact) .par runs the other files of the same name, it has stuff like.. final colour and size? Not sure. Also, music01.par has some // lines (notes).. only containing values though, no text. Soruce .src particle.src and sound.src, the only two files are exactly the same... they contain SRCL followed by .... [00 00 00 00] and nothing else. Textures .wib WIBF = 4 WIBT = I'm not sure about this because it is gianourmous due to having non-stop till the end (it seems). But on text071.wib [file of Z02LGI] it seems to be 4, thought it does seems to switch between FF and FE, and then some other bytes randomly. .txl ...eh, I got nothing on this, do you? It seems like there COULD be something. Waypoints .h Can be opened with any text editor (or C++ if you're a programer [gave it away how I knew]) .way and .wpt (extremely identical) WPTP = 40 WPTL = 12 WPTG = 8 (I think) The following .wpt files are a bit different. W_CSM_C.wpt W_OTH_C.wpt W_PATH_C.wpt W_ROAD_C.wpt They start with ÿÿÿÿ [00 00 00 00 in bytes], I don't think this means anything special though. They seem fine in 16 bytes, until it reaches the part where they start listing stuff. .wbt I got nothing. All .col files. (I never got back to these so I don't have byte lengths of them.) Start with CBBX Larger length files: Contains COLP near the beginning GRDP and GRDC are near the end Small, tiny length files: End with NCOL If you have more to add, feel free to post below.
