A swear word is a word. Like all words, they portray a certain force or emotion across when used. You can replace a swear word with another less vulgar term of the same meaning, but the actual forcefulness of the sentence changes completely.

To put this in a little more context, I saw addicts posts in the Latest Posts box, took a screenshot and on Skype asked addict if he had double posted and broken the Latest Posts box, because I didn't see the 2 in one of the titles. Hilarity ensues, and then jamesster of all people randomly enters and he saw the same thing as me, and realised the mistake too.
