What is it?

A game where you fight versus someone else with a tank.

Added missiles early, in v6...Was supposed to be done in v 0.8

Just grab a sibling or friend and play with them until I implement ai.

How do you play?

On the title screen, hit s to enter the battlefield.

Player on is the tank on the left, and player 2 is the tank on the right.

P1 uses left and right arrow keys to move. P2 uses 'a' and 'd'.

p1 uses 'enter' to fire bullets and p2 uses 'space'.

p1 uses right alt to fire missiles and player 2 uses left alt to fire missiles

Your tank cannot move past halfway through the screen, this is only to make it fair.

Bullets don't cover the whole screen, thus if you hang out by the edge of the battlefield, you're invincible. Use a missile if they just sit there so that you may drive them out and shoot them with bullets xD

You can easily avoid missiles if you move left or right. The point of their being is to make you move out of the safe zone and into the bullet's range.

Press escape at anytime to exit.

Now featuring the victory screen.

Bugs?

If you find any bugs, please post here.

Known bugs:

Occasionally bullets don't explode. This Has only happened on xp.

The game minimizes once you start it. Fix: Just go down to the task bar and click on the game's window. This has only happened on vista.

Sometimes, missiles just stick in the ground like darts if they miss you and will only disappear if you collide with them.

sometimes the missile doesn't draw correctly for no apparent reason.

Are you open to suggestions? I know its only at .5, but still. Think of it as a to-do list.

If so...

1. Can you put a health bar over the tank?

2. A little background would be nice.

3. Work is needed on the graphics.

4. A flat terrain is so 1956.

5. The movement is probably jerky and sudden. Smooth that out please.

You have a lot of work to do.

Ouw...small problem...

Yes, it's only halfway done and I am open to suggestions..

1. Yes, I can put the healthbar, just need to figure out how.

2. I know, this is just for it to work.

3. Actually, I purposely chose these graphics to look very old, and not that good.

4. I know, but I don't think I'll be adding it to version 1. Yes, i want to smooth movement

Nah, takes too much of my time to static link. Maybe final release will be.

All the dlls are included, at least those it asked me for.

Just some plans for the game are in the docs, like the power ups and the weapon types.

  • 3 weeks later...

Because you wanted to know, we need:

libfreetype.dll

msvcr.dll

SDL.dll

SDL_image.dll

SDL_ttf.dll

zlib.dll

I think a couple of these are already included.
