Vex Robotics

So today was my school's VEX Robotics qualifier. We didn't do so well. Our first two alliance partners flipped over and ripped their arm off inside one of the goals, respectively, so that sucked. We won 2 of the four remaining qualifying matches. We got 28th place out of 39. We barely got chosen for the finals alliances. Our alliance won the first out of 3 quarterfinal rounds (best 2/3 passes on to the semis), but we lost the next two. We lost the championship rounds. But.

What I've Been Up To For The Past...month? Few Months?

While I may not be doing much on the forums for the past while, I've not just been a lazy slacker. I've actually been doing some pretty cool stuff. Now That I Actually Have Time...

Now that I have all my work done, I'm going to do two things for LRR: I'm going to go through the entire LRR directory, deleting all unused files (animations, user inteface icons, unused objects, and unused decals). This should improve locating files, decrease the size of LRR, knowing exactly which files are needing to be editted, and so on. Lots 'o Things Happening

New Project

I am beginning a new project, one that will take quite a while. I am remaking each LRR model, piece by piece, split apart all the models when I'm done, and make their respective LWO's for the animations. These models will be better quality, and less flat like most of the LRR models currently are. So far I've only done the teleport pad: Anyone want to take a guess on the tri-gon poly count?

Other than the other post; I've been unable to do anything else on here. I've been at grandparents for the week, and haven't been able to do homework or make any additions to the tutorial. What little time I did have was spent on MineCraft....not enough to do homework or work on the tutorial. Beginning To Make Things Completely From Scratch

I was screwing around with Lightwave this weekend, and I made that. I also played around with other things, such as curves and rail extrusions. Does anyone know how to get rounded corners edges rather than stupid sharp ones? Like the attached picture.

I've Come Really Far In My Graphics Modifications...

I mean, look at what I've done. I started with replacing models. (the first "High-Poly Tools"). Then I started messing around in LightWave. Then I began using Blender to import the LWO's (but losing the texture :'( ), edit, export to LWO, open in LightWave, export to LW5. So, lots of things have changed since the last post. I've recently taken up modeling, and have a really neat system for making these things. This is what I can do: Method 1 of modeling for LRR: Import existing LRR LightWave model into Blender Use Blender to make changes to model Export to LightWave (.lwo) Import .LWO into LightWave 9 Flip any inverted faces on the model, and export to LightWave 5 (.lwo) Place in game files Test game, and repeat process until I get it
