3DXML to OBJ - Converts LDD model captures to OBJ

@tomfyhr my concern was that a complete stranger started talking to me and sending me links to a script which I of course don't even touch because only a dingus opens something from a source he doesn't know/trust. Now stop getting me involved in things I have no intention to be part of.

Project Island - a LEGO Island fan-made sequel

Could write a lengthy post here about how I'm intrigued but sceptical due to the lack of any actual proof of game other than character renders in the OP, but there's a really good tweet thread out there that already covers the subject really well so I'll just plonk that here: So, uh, yeah - I would've personally worked on getting some headway with the actual game/a rough demo of what ya wanna achieve before going all-out with renders and teasers an' the like, but still - best of luck with the project innit.

    Lego Battles For Warcraft III

It's a great game indeed. It really reminded me of Warcraft II, especially the resemblance Lego trolls have to orcs. Also the campaign missions for Lego battles, while most are average quality, some are really memorable and fun to play. Off the top of my head I really loved: Booty Haul, Hijacked, Criminal Minds, Forgotten Passage, Perilous Journey, Battle Royal, All of Wizard's third act (High and Dry, Bring It Down, Shoot The Messenger, Homecoming), and The Motherlode. Which ones did you really remember? Oh, Warcraft games are rather similar to Lego Battles, down to the soundtrack. It was the very idea of people porting/recreating Lego games that made me start this project. Thanks! Map can be downloaded here: https://www.epicwar.com/maps/276689/

I thought we had more than 4. Guess it might be all the applications we went through and have yet to still let more in.

Project Island - a LEGO Island fan-made sequel

No offense but that just sounds like the first game without the other characters, but told in like one of those back-of-the-box descriptions to get kids interested without really describing the gameplay and story at all. Like, what is the exact gameplay style(s)? How long is this intended to be? If there's minigames like in the originals what's the plan with that? Are the other characters from the first game playable? Are there going to be multiple worlds like 2 or just on one main map like Island and Xtreme? What's the plot, if there is a single over-arcing one, or an unlockable one/more open-ended like in the original, or what? Well I mean. I'd just like to see some kind of concept, anything besides fancy pre-rendered stuff this early in development that doesn't really tell me anything about anything besides that you can render short animated videos. After the CEO of DDI himself spent five years talking about his Rock Raiders sequel plans without really getting much of anywhere, I'm just a little skeptical. Most of the projects I ever see go anywhere start off with the dev(s) just showing random stuff off and continuing to do so as they make progress - even when there's ones that need help or funding they usually have something to show off as an example of what the full thing is gonna be like (aside from the scam ones of course). I don't really know how to describe what I'm talking about that's going on here that I'm wary of, just not really sure there's a whole lot of solid game idea here besides "lego island 4". That doesn't do anything to answer my question. I just wanna know like, are you gonna be hiring professional VAs to emulate the acting in the original game, or just half-assing it?

Sorry for reawakening a seemingly dead topic, buuuuuuut... These official images from the LEGO Education StoryStarter Curriculum Pack raise some questions I never wanted to ask.

    Aaaaaaand we're back!

Huzzah! RRU is back (but not quite, but hey its back, yet not entirely). So yeah, its nice to be back. I'm currently drafting a blog post containing most of the fun stuff I've made during RRU's absence, but I decided this little gem deserves it own blog (actually, I'm just posting it because that's one less thing to post for the next blog). So tell me, fellow Rock Raider... What is Rock? Landslides don't hurt me... ...don't hurt me... ...no more... -- Ben24x7 --

  11. People used to post topics like this a lot ~6-8 years back when Power Miners was more recent. The response can be summarized by how the Power Miners monsters were often compared to toilets and trash cans... I think the overall sentiment was that it didn't feel as epic or serious as Rock Raiders (the smaller and often comical monsters, the bright colors, the simpler story, etc). These days I think people tend to like it a bit more for what it is, but there hasn't been as much discussion about it. Edit - The commercials/ads are a really good way to compare the tones of the two themes: Rock Raiders was dark, mysterious and threatening in tone (especially the PC game), Power Miners was more loud and in your face, even somewhat cartoony. I think the Power Miners sets had better play features (the drills geared to have two parts rotating in different directions were awesome), but that's mostly due to LEGO as a whole getting much better at that since the late 90s/early 2000s. I don't think the Power Miners color scheme is really bad but it's not what I'd choose if I were designing them.

Cirevam Has Stolen My Grandmother's Waffles

Recently, my grandmother's waffles were swiped from the very plate they sat upon. I have reason to believe it was sir, Cirevam involved in the illegal acquirement of said waffles. My reason for this suspicion is the fact that Cirevam claims nulls bare a similar taste to that of drained brickonium. He must consume nulls quite regularly for him to be able to identify their taste in other food sources. The fact that he knows what drained brickonium tastes like also suggests he may have been supplied a substitute, subject to a null addiction. The null substitute must not be too enjoyable, thus inclining him to steal granma's waffles. As of yet, I remain unaware of who's culpable for this waffle theft, though I shall continue in my pursuit of the true culprit. More on this as new information becomes readily available.. Granma says hello, and that she loves you <3
