It's just. A show. Nothing more, nothing less. Something else I find weird, why is it that MLP is the only thing people started hating, because some people like it and others don't. I like MechWarrior, someone else might not, I'm not going to make a huge fit about it. Same thing if you like Dr. Who, I've tried out the show, not my cup of tea. So should I outright bash it every chance I get? No, it's stupid. I have better things to do with my time, than frivolously argue about a show or interest. When something gets big, people can't help to troll/flame it and hate it with passion because it becomes to much for them to handle so they have to do something about it.
