Fush
I think the new rules are fine, and I agree with your reasoning for adding them.
Fluffy Cupcake
Since I did just jot down (I didn't put deep thought into it) half of the things I wrote for the guidelines very very late last night and put half thoughts into it, I have been thinking that RP is just the candy part of the game, and it isn't a core necessity for the game to run. Still though, with the amount of depth some of you put into the story, doing something like #1 just feels beyond out of place. Should I perhaps change 'not permitted' to 'not recommended'? This still gives the leeway to mention something if you feel it is absolutely necessary. As I took it into assumption most people don't bother relooking at the OP unless needed, and since I wasn't actually ready to discuss things (I was going to wait until round end to prevent mixing) and ponzy brought the topic out into the open early, I think I'll removing everything else I also injected into the OP until the round end, as there is a lot I added. Darn it RRU, pons wrote this not Fush And I know you said to me on Steam we've been doing the voting completely wrong (such as the game starts at day, not night)... so what? That was one thing I've rewrote and am not removing from the OP though. A bit has changed, and the first day is a short day. you don't need ridiculous quantities of rules, just common sense. The point of this game isn't to win and have everything set out nicely so as to make it fairer and... can't really find the word for it, but anyway it's to have fun. And how is a couple guidelines a ridiculous amount? It isn't like I wrote out the 10 commandments of Mafia or anything too strict. I don't see how adding those removes any of the fun. #1 actually in fact rids of the fun reduction for the person who would of been otherwise targeted. It's not fun to be pointed at for actions in previous games.
Seaborgium
I just think the "no fourth-wall breaking rule" puts the icing before the cake if you will. I enjoy elaborate scenes and people getting into the setting, but I think that gameplay is more important. I enjoy pretending to be a megalomaniacal Napoleon-era martial, but I will not turn a blind eye to the fact the a certain players keeps trying to take Kamchatka game after game just so that I can keep up the "the world has never seen this scale of war before" premise. I will still give amazing Henry V/ Napoleonic style speeches to my blocks in Australia, but I will play the game based on how the other players have acted in the past. Besides, the fourth wall is now thoroughly shattered by all this rule discussion. Also, I understand that you started the mafia topic and have hosted quite a bit, but I'm not sure if that means you can add rules without the consent of the players. Even if you can, you almost certainly shouldn't. People rarely take kindly to that. If everyone wants these new rules, then added them would be legitimate, but if not, then I'd leave such rules to the individual hosts for each game. For the third time (to all). I was going to announce and discuss after the end of the round about new things and possible changes. The discussions we are doing now was suppose to happen after, but we are doing it now and you guys already shared your thoughts on it, so, yeah. I did soften rule #1 now anyhow, so it isn't strictly prohibited. I'm not exactly creating new rules here (well, aside from #1 which was heading that way before I went and softened it), in fact, I never initially called them rules. All I'm doing is molding the game after the general foundation of the game which I didn't have a complete full grasp on when I first created the topic 2 years ago, anything I do is for the best interest of the game and its future rounds, I'm not trying to ruin experiences here. Fluffy Cupcake
Well you can vote if you want Sea, if you haven't already. (I haven't been keeping track.) Should I add this to the restrictions of registration?: If you're going to play. AT LEAST BE ACTIVE ONCE EVERY 48 HOURS OR ELSE THE MAFIA WILL KILL YOU IN YOUR ABSENCE!!! Quisoves Potoo
It looks like y'all got sidetracked. You've got 32 hours left to vote. The problem here is that folks that don't bother to be active probably aren't the sort who are bothered by elimination for their inactivity. Fluffy Cupcake
Well they shouldn't join a game just to be a deadweight. I know this is just a game, but if someone is gonna take part in something they've to take responsibility and do their part. It destroys the fun for everyone else when they don't. If they are delayed they should at least tell someone.
Seaborgium
All right. I vote Aiden. The only pattern I can detect is that these are all people who were suspicious of Jimbob. But it seems pretty obvious that Jimbob is the other duelist. Jimbob would not be so stupid as to target all the people who voted for him. Unless of course Jimbob is doing a double bluff, but that would still draw attention to him, and so would ultimately still be ti his detriment. Of course, I might be overestimating Jimbob, but I doubt it.. So, that leaves us with Aiden, BionicleFan and OneGreatTrace. Biofan and OneGreatTrace have been mostly inactive for this game and so probably would not make any sort of elaborate schemes.. It is possible that OneGreatTrace is lurking in the shadows, but I don't know enough about him to say. Certainly Biofan does not strike me as that type given his inexperience, so I'm guessing Bio isn't really even playing. So aside from Trace, there's Aiden. I don't know if he would try to frame Jimbob, but he is the type who would lie in the shadows and let people destroy themselves. If Jimbob is being framed, Aiden would be the one to do it. So Aiden is the most likely suspect.
Jimbob
In the interests of keeping things moving, I vote Aiden too. Seaborgium put up a very valid theory with which I concur. Plus it's too early for me to type up a decent dialogue.
Fluffy Cupcake
Just a reminder QP that not everyone needs to cast a vote for the day to end. If people can't make up their minds within the set time limit you, the host, gave them (if non-specified, then the automatic time limit is applied, 48 hours seems to be the common time-frame people here use eh?) then it is their loss if no one gets voted off (unless 2/3s of the players vote which is enough to warrant voting-off (I did make up the 2/3 part, there isn't an offical)). If players want other people to vote then they need to be more persistent and give a good persuasive reason! Though if the non-voting are still as a statue after a couple days, make sure they aren't dead themselves by poking them with a stick. Alternatively if you no longer have time to host, you can pass on your job to a dead person or someone not playing in the round at all. No I didn't just pull this out of my hat, the automatic procedure to night is one of them unspoken rules that apply when things take to dang long. Experience* The narrator usually gives a 'The day is soon ending' warning before it happens though and tells players to hurry up. For every unplayed week that goes by when a round is running, 7 kittens die.
Fluffy Cupcake
Well, it's been two months since any gameplay activity. Do I need to call termination on this round too?
Quisoves Potoo
Well, it's been two months since any gameplay activity. Do I need to call termination on this round too? Er, quite. Terribly sorry about that. Health got in the way, as it so often does.
Fluffy Cupcake
It's not just you. I don't think all the votes ever got in, but I said what to do a couple posts above in a situation like that anyhow.
Fluffy Cupcake
So hey, since we're all pros at this now I've went and added 12 new additional roles into the OP which should really spicen things up! Anyone up for another round now? I am willing to host if no one on the narration list wants to. Yajmo

What happens is that if someone stays silent they are just null for that day, and voting can go on without them.

Fluffy Cupcake
When we get a solid count of minimal required people (6 is minimal) Fush is pending and I still need to contact Quistaros Pugnat.
