Well no one specifically finalized their votes but since there doesn't seem to be any conflict, I'll just accept the votes that have been placed as final. We good?

Sure. I don't know if Seaborg's vote is final though.

Seaborgium

Gee, I think Ben did it, but if I vote Ben, then QP dies and I am pretty sure that he is innocent. I therefore change my vote to  Mael to let it be a coinflip.

Aiden still needs to vote.

I vote Mael, FINAL.

EDIT: Since I'm on the chopping block, it's probably best for me to mention that I'm the Doctor. Killing me would be a mistake.

Finalizing my vote for quis. Also, we don't need a coinflip (JJ will be a Tiebreaker, according to Sushi)

Besides, how do WE know you're the doctor or not? You could be the mafia, and just acting like you're another role (Just like Seaborg in that other round when he tricked me into thinking he was the detective.)

If I were the Mafia, claiming to be the Doctor would be the last thing I'd do. It would only prompt the real Doctor to reveal himself. Even if I got him lynched, I'd be lynched the next round.

EDIT: I don't see the thing about JJ being a tiebreaker, which means that info must have been revealed via PM, no? I'm not sure if the innocents got PMs, but I know they'd have little reason to ask Fushi questions using them.

I suggested using JJ as a tiebreaker in a shoutbox discussion with Mael the other day. Also, all of players got PMs, even innocents.

Aidenpons is playing, and I am waiting for him to vote.

Or to post at all, for that matter.

A new character staggered into the room. He had a green hat that the others exclaimed in disgust at, but it kept his head warm. Not unnoticed went the fact that he was wearing sandals, a strange form of footwear to wear in this chill.

"So, uh, what've I missed?"

At this point in time I couldn't think up a suitable plot-explanation for viewing the history, so let's just say I'd installed a voice recorder in the main room. After all, with Xiron's premature death, you've got to be careful. l405G.jpg

In due time Aiden had refreshed himself on the history, and it seemed to him (yes I'm fluctuating between first and third person, shall we use second as well to be non-discriminatory?l405G.jpg)  wise to vote MaelstromIslander, or whatever his full name was. Nicknames were so much easier to remember, and to write/spell/type/verb that fits into plot sense when I am simply typing at a keyboard l405G.jpg.

Quistoves Potoo had been let off the hook: claiming to be the Doctor, one with the power to save, cannot be lightly thrown away. Of course, that's exactly what a Mafia would do, but this seemed to be different.

Even so, that would mean the Mafia would directly target him... but due to a strange loophole in the way this random text game played over the internet works, the Doctor could protect himself from a premature death and thus that information could be used as a shield: if the killer repeatedly attacked the Doctor but was prevented each time, we would have more time to find the killer.

Furthermore, Mael had been talking a little too much. But on the other hand, Seaborgium was talking too little. Nevertheless, to him to the blame fell on MaelstromIslander. [FINAL]

Okay say that again? Are you voting me or are you voting seaborg?
If Seaborg is the one you're voting i doubt he's the killer. If you're voting me I didn't want to vote quis but i had to so we could have a coinflip. I didn't want to really kill him, nor did i think he was the mafia, i just wanted to save my own life. He's at the fault, he's the insane doctor who wants to kill me for my innocence because some imbecile lost on the moon has to give him crazy ideas!

Go ahead, kill me, and the mafia is going to kill you all because you're just too blind to see the truth. Oh, and about the "Talking too much thing" thats stupid. If i have interest in this game i'm going to talk a lot. Seriously...

Rest assured that Xiron is not responsible for my suspicion of you. Speaking of which, he really oughtn't to be weighing in, ought he?

What a strange turn this story had taken. Dr. Hashbaz, the clinic's appointed supervisor, had revealed his position to the recruits- even knowing that doing so put him at risk. But he revealed something a bit more unusual as well... a psychic gift. Not everyone believed him, but it was enough to sway the vote... just barely.

And so it was decided that the blame for Xiron's death would fall on Parker. It wasn't a unanimous decision, no- the group was split. THe ones not swayed by Hashbaz's vision found his behavior suspicious and believed him to be at fault- but they reluctantly faltered to the majority.

Not knowing what else to do, Parker was thrown into the same pit as Xiron's body. An ironic death... Infected by your target, succumbing to the same disease you used to take the life of another...

Parker's possessions were searched, and the stolen vials found. The outbreak was contained, and everyone was set free.

Dr. Hashbaz went back to his work with the clinic, putting the entire ordeal behind him almost as though it had not happened at all. His visions still haunted him, though...

Seaborgium, the undercover cop, reported back to his superiors about the events that had taken place. The mountain of paperwork that ensued took months to fill out...

The clinic shut down it's training program for the time being. The recruits that had applied were sent home, and more strict screening measures were instated to prevent this from happening again.

Everything was back to normal. Or was it? Something tugged at the back of Dr. Hashbaz's mind... something had been forgotten...

On a shelf deep within the rows that lines the complex, one spot stood empty.

RESULTS

Xiron (Innocent) - Killed by Mafia
MaelstronIslander (Mafia) - Executed by group vote
Quisoves Potoo (Doctor) - Survived!
Seaborgium (Detective) - Survived!
Ben24x7 (Innocent) - Survived!
Aidenpons (Innocent) - Survived!

Mafia loss!

Xiron and MaelstromIslander met in limbo. Each had killed the other in a different life... there was still some anger between them. But they considered themselves even. And so, they departed for the next life...

as equals.

That was fun!

The poor Mafia can't seem to make homicide pay.

I rather enjoy your writing style, Fushi.

Here's to the next game!

It's either a) we all kill the Mafia on the first turn, or b) we take blind guesses and he murders us all. I think something else has only happened... once or maybe twice, in twelve rounds? l405G.jpg

Also, The Ace Railgun, are you going to be able to narrate the next round?

Wow! Another short game! The next thing you know we're gonna start to have to have a game with double the mafia in it. :P

I wonder if I should ask to narrate the next round. As I recall, I did a western That One Time™ I narrated, and everyone liked it. I also recall it was a short game. It would also give me something new to do in the two weeks I have left before I loose freedom by voluntarily spending my June working at a camp and attending a conference.

I'm fine if Ace is fine. However, given your limited window of time, we'll need to be extremely punctual. If we institute a time-limit (48 hours per round sounds good to me,) we could pull it off.

Funny that these rounds are short, especially since this fourm is seen as a stereotypical sanityless site, especially back in it's insanity hay-day, apparentally the raiders are getting smarter...

...dun Dun DAA!

Anyways, if there is a new round up or coming, I want to sign up, these short rounds aren't fun, personally. Its like a lottery where the everyone has a 99.9% chance at winning, it would be fun to see more happen that just "Oh, hey, the Mafia struck again, I know who the Mafia is, lets kill him/her, yay the Mafia is killed, we can rejoice with a Town party where we'll drink beer/wine and party all night until Next-Life 3".

Hopefully these last two were but flukes. You usually can't out the Mafia solely on the basis of his first-night target.

Actually, Fush was thinking of hosting again and spicing things up a bit (there are ways, and I know how if you ask when hosting), but I vote for le717 to host the next round first!

Anyway, if you aren't already on the players list for the next round, do state that you are joining please!

Or if I put you on the list and you don't want to play (I put all of the players from last game), please state so!

Speaking of the list, we need to drag more people into this. :P
