The votes were cast once more, and Fushigisaur's fate was sealed. Before anything could be said on the matter, or a method of execution devised, those assembled heard a splash, and looked to see Fushigisaur swimming away from the Trepidation of the Spheres. All on board knew the futility of trying to reach shore, as did Fushigisaur. But she preferred to die in her own way.

Night Three

The four remaining passengers retired to bed, hoping that they had made the right choice.

Night roles, send in your PMs.

Day Three

Morning came, and one did not awake on the Trepidation of the Spheres. That one was The Ace Railgun, found suffocated with a kimono. The three remainders where understandably quite nervous, for the next execution would be the last, though perhaps not the final killing. After a long, awkward breakfast, they visited Mr. Tzu (whom the passengers had grown rather fond of over the past few days, if nothing else, for the fact that he was not a possible murderer,) each one bidding him farewell, for at least one of them should not be seeing him again.  They then gathered on the deck to cast their votes for a final time.

Okay, so what do we do?

You vote, very carefully.

I was addressing the other inhabitants of the vote.

I mean, um... blub blub blub blub blub

Okay, then pick me.

Also, can you choose NOT to pick someone for a night? Out of interest.

Nulling votes is usually allowed in Mafia. I don't know that it has ever been done in RRU Mafia, due to the small amount of players, but it certainly is possible, I should think.

*pokes head in*

You guys do realise that if you host a mafia game on a lego site it's supposed to be called "Deconstructors", right?

Just a reminder, this may be the final turn, but we really must finish this game. So far, only Aiden has voted. I don't want to rush anyone, now of all times, but some sort of activity is required.

Well... three people left hey?

Noghiri's been very quiet. Just jumping on the bandwagon when it's time to make a final vote.

I'm voting noghiri.

In my defense, I've been acquiring a rifle, researching, getting ready for school, and researching. =P

Boba has been saying many words without saying much at all, which is a good thing for a mafia member to do, because if people don't notice the low informational content, then they won't vote because the person seems to be a reasonably vocal innocent.

I vote BobaFett2

I suppose I should vote for Noghiri, then.

Since these are final votes, I can now guarantee that neither of us will die, unless the mafioso intends to commit suicide.

I blink, then nod.

"Before I go... It is unwise to be too sure of one's own wisdom. It is healthy to be reminded that the strongest might weaken and the wisest might err."

I stepped into my cabin for the last time.  A crash was heard.  this was the scene that greeted them when they entered the cabin:

On my body, a letter to my mother, unfinished.  Her eyes would never touch it.  The key to my trunk, which was filled only with clothes and my glass cat collection. On the dresser, a bottle of 40-year single malt scotch, and a small vial that smelled faintly of mice.

OoC: That was two votes me, one vote Boba.  We could have had a Mexican Standoff.

BobaFett2 and aidenpons solemnly exited the cabin that had been noghiri's, the appalling scene therein all too fresh in their minds.
"Well, here we are at last, just the two of us and poor Mr. Tzu. If Noghiri was the killer, then at least we saw to it that justice was done, no matter how unpleasant the experience. If not..." Boba paused, unable to meet Aiden's gaze.
"I just hope that Mr. Winsey would have been proud of us. He would have been quite useful, if he wasn't the one to be killed in the first place," said Aiden.

"Really?"
"He served with the Ningbo police-force once, didn't you know?"
"Now that you mention it, that does stir my memory, slightly."

"What do you say we have a drink? A little something to calm the nerves?

"As long as it's not malt scotch." Boba attempted a chuckle, only to cough uncomfortably.

They proceeded silently to the dining room, now a sad reminder of lost lives and lost happiness. Aiden poured himself an Indian Pale Ale.
"You know, Boba, I first met Gerald in Ningbo. I was Port Authority there. It was 1920, and the local police were hot on the trail of a notorious ring of opium smugglers. I was introduced to one Gerald Winsey, a promising man of the law who was working hard to put an end to the ring. A very amiable fellow, he and I fast became friends. Towards the the very end of the investigation, I contracted Typhoid Fever. It was a terrible experience. I was unable to do anything as he performed the perilous task of infiltrating the ring."
"That is rather nasty, Aiden. But surely you had a substitute?"
"Aye, but that doesn't change the fact that I was impotent at such an important time. Anyway, the ring was caught, undone by the pseudonymous Issiah Booker.  Not long afterwards, he came into his inheritance and began traveling the world. The rest you know all too well. There's one more thing, though," Aiden grinned broadly , "almost all of the smugglers named me as an accomplice. No-one believed them, of course. Why should they? There was no evidence for such a claim, and desperate men will say just about anything. The funny thing is, they were right."

Mr. Tzu was thoroughly enjoying a sumptuous Parisian production of Aida. It was at the Act II finale, and showed no signs of flagging. He was particularly impressed by Richard Temple's performance as the King of Egypt. Suddenly, alas, he heard the unmistakable sound of a gun shot, and the theater faded away. Another shot. That's not right at all. Still confined to his bed, he wondered fearfully if his time was nigh.

Aiden leered at the horrified, bleeding Boba. Standing over him triumphantly, he continued "I endured fifteen years of excruciation, railing at the frivolity of fortune, until Percy, our mutual friend, afforded me an opportunity to meet him again. Not that I could have killed him at the party. But I made sure that he kept me in mind, and that I knew where to find him. I was prepared to follow him to the ends of the earth, trite as that may sound. He made things a good deal easier, fortunately, by inviting me. Mind you, I'd have gone regardless of his promised reimbursement. Four-thousand miles would not keep me from my revenge.  And so now you know. What's that, not courteous enough to stay awake? Ah, well then, worm, sleep. Oh, what's this? A business card?" Aiden laughed heartily.  "Some bodyguard you were!"

And so, when the Trepidation of the Spheres was found drifting of the coast of Khazar, nine days later, it was without a trace of any occupants. Earlier that week , Mr. Pons had arrived back in Shanghai. He was quite mum about his sudden holiday. He preferred not to talk about it, intimating that something had gone terribly awry. Only he knew just how successful it had been.

Finis

Thank you everyone, and congratulations to aidenpons!

Is this your first game as Mafia? You acquitted (ha ha) yourself admirably.

Here's to the next game!

I didn't realize that the Doctor couldn't protect themselves. Oh well. Good game, Aiden.

The Doctor can protect himself, it's simply that the last innocent automatically dies. Otherwise you'd have a stalemate, and the Mafia's victory would be down to a coin-flip.

The Ace Railgun

I'm taking a break too, I was supposed to narrate next, but Mid-terms are approaching so move me to the end of the end of the narrating queue.
