As some of you might know, it snowed SIDEWAYS today. Since everyone was stuck away from here, it was up to me to hold down the fort (or built one). It got really bad so I found all my winter gear and im going to show off my "winter apocalypse headwrap". Dang this thing is hot.
You may have already noticed the changes, but if not, click on 'Downloads' at the top of the website. As you can see, it looks a lot better then it did before and you'll see (I've got the most downloads ) that it displays all the files with thumbnails next to them on the front page. What does this mean? It means you better put proper pictures with you files so it looks nice in the download center! or else... *cough*.
The uploading side is also a lot nicer and more simply set out and it also
I haven't been able to do much work on projects recently. However, since I had no pictures to show in part 3, I will post them now. I can also confirm that it runs on Windows 7 64Bit as that is what I am developing it on now.
Compiler Options
If you remember in Part 3 I spoke about how the compiler will remain external to allow for people to use different compilers/versions. Below is the options window for it. You will see that you can select the executable of the compiler and then write
Ive been banned for 10 months now and I've finaly returned to RockRaidersUnited,
I was one of the first members of Old, Old RRU. If I recall correctly. I do know that I was the 33rd member ever to join RRU and boy after 10 months of banishment alot has changed; And I have alot of questions.
But the main question I want to ask is what Generation Forum Is this? RRU History (from my memory) goes like this:
Neoseeker, 0 generation
Old Old Old RRU, 1st generation
Old Old RRU, (When I
Well...A lot has happened since my last entry.
1. My main computer had quite a few serious issues and I had to reinstall the OS around 3 times.
Most of the hard drive is corrupted and unusable.
My most important data is safe, I think.
2. My server lost quite a bit of data, and the old forums are completely gone.
The new forums can be found at: http://terraform.getmyip.com/forums
3.A bunch of stuff I can't remember.
4. Windows is acting stupid yet again. I hate windows.
Other than the other post; I've been unable to do anything else on here. I've been at grandparents for the week, and haven't been able to do homework or make any additions to the tutorial.
What little time I did have was spent on MineCraft....not enough to do homework or work on the tutorial. And I have no clue when I will have time to work on the tutorial.....I just don't have enough time, thanks to this engineering project...
But I find time to squeeze in a little bit to catch up on
So today I took a look at legomoe's .pac extractor and builder (link here: )
I downloaded the tool and extracted the files. Then I began to browse through them and see how Alpha Team is set up. I'd say it is similar to RR...
I've also begun writing a reference/guide to modding Alpha Team. Link here:
Yep, that's my first mod!
More to come!

Hopefully this lets you guys know more about Open Rock Raiders, and it might even stimulate interest in the project. Both by the devs, and you, the members.
If you guys have any suggestions, both for ORR and the podcast, please post them.
Well it snowed today, it was a very wet snow. I shoveled the drive way. I shovel it again. I take a pic of me and write this. I will probably be out there shoveling yet again soon.
A few weeks back, me and Ramius were discussing a bit our thoughts on open rock raiders. We didn't completely agree to addict's planned changes (for example: adding single tile thick walls), and started looking into it ourselves. Our vision is to recreate the old game, with its original gameplay structures, yet adding new features that improve the gameplay. I have made a small overview of our thoughts further down the post.
We have decided to use python to program the game, mainly due to i
I just heard the most screwed up song ever! Now. The song was in a "You have to burn the rope" Parody.
General Updates
HellFire Chasm (RR Map #1) Is still being worked on. Been Working on it whenever I had free time, and Wasn't playing Fallout 3.
Mission: Phoenix (Previously Going Deeper) IS Slowly being worked on. SLOOOWLY. I keep losing Helluva lotta data due to my General Eff-ups.
HFC Is technically going to be the last level.
I might need some Help with my Overhaul.

The project should be by the Canadian International School of Hong Kong, the school I go to. When I posted this, it was in 6th place...please help us.
Thanks,

even though I fell off the face of the Internet over here due to graduating from high school, going to college and finding a job (ps: need a python/assembly programmer?) I have actually been actively working on THIS, my github of roving-robots. I had decided that I would stop really talking much about it until the hardest parts for me were done or structured in a way that I could do it.
so; lets crack down on what I got:
the main block class:

I thought it was funny to share this in a bit more detail.
I am pointing at a story over at engadget, where they reviewed the new mac app store guidelines:
http://www.engadget.com/2010/10/21/apples-mac-app-store-review-guidelines-posted-will-photoshop/
Here are some comments from me:
2.1: Apps that crash will be rejected
2.2: Apps that exhibit bugs will be rejected
At these occasions I really wonder if apple has heard of a "debugger" before. This a kind of utopian philosophy where
I fixed the software issues so filming is on track. Also I need a 720p sized RR logo so if someone can get that to me that'd be nice. I just finished my lines so yay me.
So first off, I finally got around uploading the intro episode so you can view source on demand.
And for the progress on Episode 2. Epic got his lines in and I'm working on those and my own lines. filming is absolute 0% due to software issues. On another note I am writing the 3rd Episode script and i will include characters that are not on the forums (oops that's a secret).
I will get Episode 01 source eventually.
I was screwing around with Lightwave this weekend, and I made that.
I also played around with other things, such as curves and rail extrusions.
Does anyone know how to get rounded corners edges rather than stupid sharp ones?
Like the attached picture.
Ok, so yesterday the new internet Explorer 9 beta was released. And for all that are wishing that internet explorer would be a decent browser one day; this one does a step in the right direction, but some stuff is just fail.
The good parts.
As it looks like, Microsoft has finally realised that going with the standards is much better than defining them themselves. It was one of the huge mistakes they made with earlier versions of IE. We shall see what the results will be.
Next they (fina
I'm pretty close to screaming at my father at what he did to my computer.
I've tried running as admin, turning off UAC and what-not and Windows 7 STILL refuses to let my programs do what they want. Spring still fails, I can't use any addons on my Firefox and pretty much every program is screwed up to a certain extent.
I really want help with this. I think most of you have gotten around it, any advice?
